When cleaning your home, you must get rid of all of the dirt, grease and grim; yes, everything that adds clutter into your home. When cleaning your home, it is imperative that you dig really deep into the walls of your home to rid it of everything that is meaningless to you. Likewise in the spirit, we must clean our home, this earthly vessel that we live in. Before we clean our temples, it is essential to perform a few tasks in order to determine who we are. Consequently, in order for us to really establish a relationship with our father, husband, redeemer and our maker, we must condition ourselves to getting rid of the clutter. Cleaning your house both naturally and spiritually can be both tedious and difficult work at times. Oftentimes, when cleaning, we become distracted and sometimes forget about the meaningful things we must do in cleaning our homes.

1 Corinthians 3:16 states: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (KJV)
Notice that Paul makes a statement, yet he also makes this proclamation as if he is asking a question informing us of who we are as children of God. Let us make it clear that Paul is talking to the church. Therefore, if you are reading this book and have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I admonish you to take a moment, repent of your sins, acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior, then subsequently invite the Holy Spirit to take up residence in your life. Once you have done this, you have taken the initial step to cleaning up your house.
Referring back to 1 Corinthians 3:16; we must first understand that God lives inside of us. We are his temple. My body, your body is that suite that houses the Spirit of

God. Before we move on, let us first understand what is a temple? A temple holds something or some things. According to Websters' Collegiate Dictionary, it is an edifice used for religious exercises, a place devoted to a special purpose. In the Greek, a temple means to dwell (Na jō). A temple is a holding station that is designed for a specific purpose. It is used for religious exercises. That is what your body should be used for.
Now the Spirit of God dwells inside of you. Dwell, according to Websters' Collegiate Dictionary means to live in a resident, exist, to tarry: therefore, God wants to live in each of us. So, in order for him to live in each of us, we must invite him to come into our lives, take up residence and continuously exercise his presence within us through daily living a life pleasing and acceptable to his will. This can only be accomplished if we are saved and consistently rely on him to emanate in our lives.

As God comes in, we must allow God to make us holy and pleasing before him. Therefore, we must understand we are his temple, a holding place for the Spirit of God to live in. In order for us to really understand who we are in Christ Jesus, we must understand the precious cargo that we are carrying inside of us. As we walk, as we move, we are carrying a rare commodity, someone desired to hold and have inside of us. If we could reflect just a moment on a woman that is pregnant, carrying her unborn infant, we will soon realize that her fetus is housed inside of her uterus; protecting it, nourishing it, developing it and allowing it to grow until it reaches the full stage of development where at that time, the baby is birthed onto this earth. Likewise, we are carrying the Spirit of God inside of us as we grow and develop into mature, stable Christians. It is his Spirit, the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost as most often called, that precious cargo that rest inside of us waiting to be used to carry out the plans of God for

our lives. In 1 Corinthians 3:16, the scripture states that the Spirit of God lives inside of us. He dwells right inside of us. So if he lives inside of me, and inside of you, then how do we clean our house and keep it clean of any and all of the debilitating things that deteriorates and destroys our temple, our house, the very fabric of who we are, our being. How do we keep ourselves clean and maintain a healthy and holy life pleasing to the Lord? We do this through the Word of God. Scripture tells us we are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge. If we desire to rid our lives of the toxic waste that flows within our lives, we must surrender our whole being to Christ, begin to seek him with all of our hearts and obtain the wisdom and knowledge we need to tackle the challenges of life. Many times we are destroyed because we do not know how to yield to God, learn his word and get what we need to refrain and withstand the attacks of the enemy. Therefore, we perish because of the lack of knowledge.

Having a lack of knowledge allows Satan to destroy us in our health, wealth and family. Oftentimes because we lack wisdom, we do things in our lives that cause us hardship, pain and much frustration. For this reason, we are destroyed, unaware and unknowledgeable of Satan's devises because he has placed blinders on us so we cannot see and understand his plans or strategies. In essences, we become confused and are not able to understand what he is doing in our lives. So I say, we must clean our house, get rid of the clutter and surrender ourselves to a loving God who is able to keep us from falling prey to the devises of the devil.
