I happened to mention to my friend Kathy that I had purchased these items for the orphanage. She became interested and she went out and she bought some clothing as well and dropped it off at my home. She informed me that she had gotten a little onesie and we discussed how cute it was. I had not even thought of getting onesies but I was determined to go back to the Salvation Army Store and see if they had any.
A couple of days later I went to the Salvation Army store and went to the baby rack, and what I saw in front of me left me almost speechless. Hanging near the end of the rack were twenty-four brand new or slightly used onesies, not spread out among all the other little outfits like usual, but all hanging together in one complete row. I just stood there and thought to myself, “Only God could have arranged something like this for my purpose.” I quickly gathered them up along with a little green knitted sweater outfit that had never been used as well as two new sleepers that were hanging there and took them all to the counter. Now, I knew going into the store that I did not have any bills in my wallet and was planning on using my debit card to pay for anything that I would be buying. The price tag on each of these clothing items was one dollar, which meant I expected to pay twenty-seven dollars for the lot. When I explained to the clerk my purpose for purchasing the entire lot of onesies, she looked at me and said “That will be two dollars.” Two dollars? For twenty-seven dollars worth of clothing? Again, God was showing His hand at work. I opened the change side of my wallet and I had exactly two dollars in change, not one penny more or less! I left that store feeling pretty humble and extremely blessed!
