Life Lessons for Bears

“Let’s have a party,” said Snowball to Teddy. They finished gathering the last few twigs and threw them on the fire that lay smoldering before them. The flame sparked and caught the wood ablaze. “How about having a chestnut roast?” suggested Snowball. “We could invite Barry Beaver, who lives over on Duckbill Pond.”
“Oh, and don’t forget Jack and Bunny Rabbit and Little Bear!” cried Teddy.
“Little Bear?” asked Snowball with a frown. “Why, he has no ribbon like the rest of us do. He could not possibly be any fun at all. Besides, he wears the strangest yellow fur coat.”
Snowball and Teddy scurried down the rocky path to invite their friends. Suddenly, Snowball found herself sliding down a hole. She landed right in the home of Jack and Bunny Rabbit. Snowball picked herself up from the tumble. She was amazed at the site before her. To Snowball’s surprise, she stood right in the middle of the most beautifully decorated rabbit’s den any hollowed-out piece of ground could offer.
Jack Rabbit noted the look of approval on Snowball’s face. After chatting a bit, he gladly accepted her invitation to the chestnut party. “I hope Little Bear is coming,” he remarked. “Now that our den is finally decorated, we would like to thank him for his kind help.”
