With a grim smile I started to explain. “No, Sir Terill. I should apologize to you. I didn’t mean to give you that terrible look but…” I paused looking at the ground searching for a way to explain myself, “I’m just not used to people touching me.”
He tilted his head, “I’m afraid I don’t understand, Your Majesty.”
Swallowing I wondered if he would look at me the same when he knew. “I’m afraid that I’m cursed.”
I waited for a moment as his brow knitted together. Then, I pulled down the neckline of my gown just barely so he could see the mark I bore. Half an inch below my collar bone was a black birthmark I had had since I was born. In Andor, everything meant something whether you wanted it to or not. So it was surprising that the strange squiggle mark could not be deciphered. This drew the conclusion that if it was found to mean nothing, it was a curse.
He surprised me by saying, “That doesn’t look like a curse to me, Princess Ayin.”

About the Book

Along the journey, Ayin discovers things about her kingdom and herself that she never knew. If she is able to rescue the Caberle in time, she will find she has the strength to fulfill her birthright and in the future lead her people as a queen should.
About the Author
Scarlett Fox developed a passion for reading at a very early age. This quickly evolved into a love for writing at age eleven. She finished her first manuscript at age twelve. She resides in Oklahoma and hopes to move to Ireland, in order to soak up some magic for her next book.
