The Message
Kingdom Intercession is an inspired message, an urgent call intended for anyone who has ears to hear the call to prayer. Its aim is to encourage God’s people to spend more time in prayer, interceding on behalf of others. The overall goal is for God’s will to be done in the lives of his people. There is a great and increasing need for intercession, as a key instrument for communicating with our Father in Heaven so that His will may be manifested on earth. Many people pray, but there are not many who intercede for others.
Intercession is unique because it moves from individual focus to a shared center of attention. Intercession causes our prayers to stretch beyond our parameters to include others. Going beyond the inner core of our own personal desires allows us to tap into what God desires. Jesus knew that his assignment on earth was to save God’s people. Our Father in heaven is not only concerned about the individual, but about the multitude of people. God works in the multitude. Look at it this way. You can pick up one leaf at a time or you can use a rake to gather many leaves. This is what Kingdom intercession does on a spiritual level. For the Kingdom of God is not just for one person, but for a collective of people.
Throughout the scriptures the kingdom is expressed not only from a geographical point of view but also from a spiritual perspective. Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all things shall be added. This scripture informs us that things are added when we seek His Kingdom and His righteousness. Seeking the Kingdom of God should be our approach and road map to everything we do in life.
Kingdom Intercession is proactively seeking our Father in heaven with all of our heart, mind, and soul to intercede on behalf of people, government, nations, and even the continents of this world. The need for intercession can be for various reasons, circumstances and situations, but the supporting foundation should be praying for the will of God.
Our Father in heaven is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but time is of the essence. Today the demand for prayer is stronger than ever. For far too long prayer has been purposely overlooked, taken very lightly and with vast limitations. Every believer should have a prayer life, for the word “believer” is more than just a label. It means one who believes wholeheartedly in the word of God. A true believer cannot pick and choose certain parts of the word to believe and apply them. To believe is to believe all of it. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 we are told to “pray” without ceasing. God has graciously given all of us a great privilege and honor called prayer, which allows us access to him any time. It is a gift from God that exhibits our ultimate relationship with him, a gift that can never be replicated by mankind.
Prayer allows us to commune with our Father in heaven. The scriptures tell us in the book of Genesis 1:26 that God made us in his image. That image has made us unique because of the likeness of God in us. This is not new information, but it is how we begin to understand the accessibility we have to the Father. We can access him because we have a relational connection that was established in the creation of man.
Believers today have access to God. Accessibility means “capable of being reached.” We are able to reach God through prayer and intercession. This is an awesome privilege and should not be taken for granted. Even the world has controls in place for accessibility to prominent people such as kings, queens, presidents, etc, and without special permission, access is denied. Nevertheless we have direct access anytime we desire to reach the King of all kings, the Creator of heaven and earth. The keys to that direct access are prayer and intercession.
Although prayer is a spiritual exercise, many still do not understand its true significance and power. The true power of prayer is beyond human reasoning; carnal thinking could never comprehend the magnitude of prayer. The power of prayer has been misunderstood and at times distorted from its true purpose. Some treat prayer as a last choice, whereas it should be the first. For believers prayer should be the “first responder.” In most cases we wait until something happens before praying, versus praying before something happens. Yet, there are many cases written in the scriptures that are testimonies of how fervent prayer changed destiny. One of my favorite biblical reminders is found in Genesis, Chapter 18, when Abraham prayed for Lot, before the destruction of Sodom. These types of testimonies help us understand the impact of prayer.
Kingdom Intercession is designed to help teach us to pray and rediscover the purpose of our relationship with God through prayer. The function of the message is to invoke prayer in the lives of God’s people into another dimension. Until we can understand what God has placed inside all of us and how valuable this is, we will not understand the purpose of prayer. There is a pressing call to prayer, from a Kingdom perspective, for intercession to the whole world. Souls are being lost, and people are dying daily without the full knowledge of God and the opportunity of salvation. True intercession and intimate prayers are needed now for the multitude.
As a prophetic intercessor with a great passion for prayer, it is my hope and prayer that God’s kingdom messages will reach the whole world in the name of Jesus.
Luke 11:1-2 (KJV)
And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
And he said unto them, when ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
