Tommy's Demons

I didn't want my own town to judge me, so I went to a few churches that were not in my community and tried to tell priests and pastors what was happening. One prayed with me then sent me on my way, I felt like he just wanted to get me out of there. Most of them would say things like, “Stress will make you believe something is real when it isn't “or “You were probably just dreaming, because those types of dreams happen to me sometimes too”. The one I heard most often but in many different ways was, “Here at our place of worship, we choose to focus on God and not the devil.” That makes sense, yes, our focus should be on God and not the devil, however, the devil was focusing on my family and I needed help. It hurt me that I turned for help to pastors and priests, only to find that some don’t believe in the unseen world that they’re anointed to teach while others believe in Spiritual Warfare but don’t want to stir up the devil, so they ignore that side altogether. We’re expected to believe in God by faith not by sight, but conveniently ignore the dark side and pretend it doesn't exist; I’d like to ignore that side too, but I didn't have a choice and I was unlearned in my God given authority and how to apply that authority and I needed to be taught. Some things just can’t be ignored, especially when they are in your face, keeping you awake, night after night after night, until finally, you've had enough!
