A loud stomping of feet echoed through the chambers and interrupted his thoughts. A Cloak had entered and was waiting silently. To all others, the Cloak would have entered silently as well-they did not produce sound-but he did not like to be surprised, and required that all Cloaks make themselves known when entering. The Cloak stood motionless as it received its instructions. “He grows weaker as I grow stronger. I will find the Dhega Stones before He is able to return them to the Tower. He relies too heavily on man and that will destroy Him. Separate the others and send them out. Tell them they will not return until all Stones are mine. Move quickly, I have spent too much time in this chamber.” The Cloak turned and disappeared into the hall. He returned to his thoughts, waiting for his servants to carry out his orders. It would not be long before he would return to the world he had left so long ago.

About the Book
When Jair is awakened from a bizarre dream by a familiar but chilling sound, it begins a series of unusual events that threaten the planning of his upcoming wedding to Terah. Refusing to let these strange occurrences alter their plans, Jair chooses to overlook them. But when Terah is kidnapped on their wedding night, the young husband can no longer ignore what is happening.
With the help of his brothers and some new acquaintances, Jair sets out to recover his stolen bride. Each day brings greater adventure and mystery, as the band of men travel farther from home. They will encounter Cloaks and Sapients, large cities and ruthless rulers, and rare stones with curious markings. Each of these encounters will bring greater questions and few answers.
Who took Terah, why, and where is he going? What are the markings on the stones, and how are they connected? Why would a Cloak attack a group of undistinguished travelers like them? To Jair, these questions are important, but not as important as the one he continues to ask himself. Will he ever see his wife again?

An avid reader since childhood, Jeremy Kamper earned a degree in secondary English education. He is intrigued by the nuances of word usage and etymology and is also particularly fond of alliteration. A lifetime resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kamper spends his free time relaxing with his wife and two daughters and dreaming of ice cream.
