THE CALL TO PRAYER This book is a result of many years of struggling to pray without much success until an encounter with the Lord in 1994. After reading many books on prayer, some by Intercessors, who write from a place of personal experience about a life of prayer and many by others who are expounding the theories and doctrines of prayer, I was still struggling to pray. In that encounter, I expressed to the Lord my struggles and disappointments in the place of prayer, such as lack of burden, passion and inability to stay long and focused in the place of prayer without mind wandering and distractions too. The Lord spoke to me and said “Son, you learn prayer by praying.” I asked him Lord what you mean by that. He said,” Son, go into your room, lock the door and start praying”. There and then I understood that prayer is not just something we talk about, think about, read about, say about, or even meditate or pray about, but rather prayer is something that we do. Prayer does not just happen but rather we make it happen.

This book, Consumed by Passion, is a penitent outcry for intercessors over the unfolding scourge of satanic attacks against our society. The spirit of violence, lust, materialism, and seduction roams about on our streets, inflicting pain and destroying our marriages and homes, redefining sexuality, destroying the careers of our teenagers through teenage pregnancies, millions of children in silence scream as they suffer the pain and violence of abortion. Our pulpits and pews filled with lust and mind-numbing spiritual coldness as millions unwarned with the gospel march towards eternal damnation. Should we continue to be at ease in Zion and turn a deaf ear to the cry of the Spirit of God? Should Hollywood and media redefine morality while the church is silent? Should we confront spiritual violence with physical violence? Is the answer arming our pastors and church members? No, Oh the cry of the Spirit for the hour: A Clarion Call for Prayers.
About the Author
Dr. Boniface Okenchi Eziomume holds a doctoral degree in finance from Bombay University, India. He served as one of the leaders of Living Word Church in Bombay and also as a pastor with Christ Co-workers Assembly in Lagos, Nigeria. He immigrated to the United States, and later served as the prayer secretary of the Nigerian Ministers Fellowship and the African Christian Fellowship in Atlanta. Presently, he is the founder and pastor of Dominion International Ministries in Marietta, Georgia. He is married to his pretty wife, Ifeoma Eunice, and blessed with three lovely children, Victory Kenechukwu, Chisom Sharon, and David Ikechukwu.
