at a door that hardly ever opens.
I speak softly through my saddest eyes
why don’t you just bring me home?
We could walk the dirt roads that never end.
We could leave Reason to rest on the Coastline Cliffs
and finally speak honestly of the years gone by.
With a velvet sunset so warm on our faces
we could gaze into the glow and plunge into
the depths of the Hero’s dying words.
We can watch the twilight dance
on the sparkling sea as we stand
before Conviction itself, hand in hand,
and face its raging storms together!
With arms raised high we could
hold as Pillars in Stone and feel
the power of Redemption as the
surging tide comes to war with us!
My Lord, we can stand together at last
and watch the Mighty Winds of Change
bring an end to what used to be,
and in the radiance of a full moon,
we can lay the pain in pockets of sand
…and simply walk away.
You said to search for you and so I did.
Dear God of Mercy I found you!
I rest my case and turn in my life and
in your embrace I rest a wanting heart.
When you come to judge this world, Lord,
just look behind you, ‘cause I’ve got the sun
on my face and I’m walking up the road
to your house, the one on the highest hill
overlooking the Fields of Heaven.
I’m there, Father. Way, way back
beyond the Depths of Deepest Dark.

About the Book
In our hearts, as Christians, we place the almighty God and his Son, Jesus Christ, in the highest regard possible. We make the connections of history placing God on his throne, and our love for God shines the golden throne to a bright brilliant finish, with beautiful angels serenading him day and night.
Yet in the real world, as we all live, life-changing moments with God are hardly described or remembered in the such grandeur. They are experienced and remembered in the depth of our deepest pain, in our darkest hours of trial and failure. As it states in the book of Corinthians, God is not of this world, and the fact that he chose to make his Son from us—that Jesus was brought to us so that we could make a simple yet eternal connection between God and his children—tells a mostly unspoken reality about our Creator.
The truth of God’s love for Adam is in the death of his Son. If you really believe in Jesus Christ, then there is no mistaking God’s love for you or the fact that love is the sole common bond between us and our Higher Power. We are most like God in Love. It is the emotion that God intends for us to understand above all others, so much so that he gave his Son, knowing how we love our children, so that we can make the connection plainly and without fail. If you, as a parent, saw your child in peril and in the dark, at the end of their sanity and crying out for you, where would you be?
This book is a timeline collection of writings, a visual interpretation of Feeling. A search for God from the depths of a very personal, inherited darkness. It is a faithful expression of the world we live in, in accordance with unseen world of Emotion and Faith.
About the Author
Finding his faith at an early age, John Parrilla of Indianapolis, Indiana, has made it a life’s goal to represent the strong connection between faithful Christians and Jesus Christ. His work comes directly from the core of a hard life lived, and now, at the age of forty and as the father of five children, he walks, soul first, into his chosen path.
