INTRODUCTION
In modern times there is a search for a deeper and more transcendent meaning of life at both personal and global levels. There is a hunger for intimacy and love that cuts across all facets and levels of society. There is a desire to connect with the core of life. These have led some people to search in places that are in most cases less productive and unsatisfying. People have adopted strange habits to curb their inner longing or ease their inner pain. Some people are not aware of what they are searching for. Others are aware of their inner longing and are looking for ways to satisfy this longing. These have led many people to take solace in working all the time to avoid encountering their loneliness. The result of this is sadness, anger and stress which have led to all kinds of diseases. I believe that the longing in the human heart is for God.

About the Author
Sister Freda Ehimuan is a nationally known resource person. She is a religious sister from the Congregation of the Religious Sisters of Charity. She received a master of arts degree from Milltown Institute of Philosophy in Dublin, Ireland. She is well known for her integration of spirituality and psychology and leads workshops and seminars in seminaries, religious houses, and churches. She passionately works for the protection and safeguarding of children and has written some articles in this regard.
Sr. Freda allows her journal to be published in other to give hope to people and to encourage them to meditate and become aware of the divine in all things.
