Seeing the Light
A dirty, mean summer squall,
muscled through the area,
leaving clogged webs, hives, and nests,
broken tree limbs,
drooping plants,
mottled cars and windows.
Grit shinnied through the cracks of houses,
making them a haven for unruly allergens.
Indeed it was a little bully,
but some good emerged.
Cooler, dryer air
assisted clean up,
fanning hope neglected tasks
would finally get done.
Dark, uninvited throes
of life hold
many blessings.
Some, readily apparent,
Others not,
until the eyes of faith,
grown more accustomed
to the Light,
can finally see.

About the Book
The poems in this book are my experience of God as I have gone about my day: stern, consoling, playful, compassionate, forgiving, just, and the list goes on. What is clear to me is His willingness to be involved in very trivial matters. I hope this book will inspire others to look for God’s presence in whatever situations they encounter.
