When a baby is born, the baby starts to cry. The baby crawls and as the legs get strong and the baby is more confident, he/she starts to take first steps, which is walking. After the toddler gets more balance, the child starts to run.
Our relationship with God begins in a similar fashion. We are born, we cry, we crawl, we stand and as our Faith gets strong, we become more confident. We start to walk. My encounter with God happened like this:
I was raised by a strict father so I had to abide by the rules which weren’t easy sometimes. However, I had to adjust. I was very quiet at times but there were times when anger would get the best of me, especially if someone spoke to me harshly. I was not allowed to do things like the average teenage boy or girl today; such as partying, dating, staying out late with friends, you name it. After the death of my earthly father, I began to develop worldly habits and fleshly ways. Not only did I do things my way, I paid the consequences for it. Then my girlfriend told me I had a Heavenly Father and I became a Christian Believer.
My struggles with everyday life led me to want to know Him. I got saved, water baptized and joined a local Church. However, I was not understanding the Bible. I would read it and read it, but still could not understand the text. I was a Christian believer but I was not strong in my walk with God. Over time, I began to understand and become hungry for Jesus. I took some classes and learned that Jesus is not a Religion but a Relationship. Through those classes and my marriage to my husband Arthur, I have learned how to make the Word of God my Food for each day. Now I am a Woman on the R.U.N. for Jesus.
In February 2012, God birthed in my spirit, “Women on the R.U.N. for Jesus”. Immediately, I stepped out in faith and obeyed God. On March 3, 2012, “Women on the R.U.N. for Jesus” was born. Women on the R.U.N. (Righteous-Uplifting-Nourishing) began when I told my husband, God spoke to me, to call a few women who are hungry for Jesus and have them come to our home and have a Bible study. I then said to my husband, Arthur, what if no-one is interested. My husband then said to me, “well we both will sit and have the Bible study.” ("For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.") Matthew 18:20.
We started with two women being hungry for Jesus and to God be the Glory, Women on the R.U.N. for Jesus is growing with more women being hungry for J E S U S. Thanks be to God.

In early New Testament times, women gathered at the well, drawing water and talking to one another about their lives and probably helping to advise each other about the problems or dilemmas in their lives. But one woman went to the well when she knew the others would not be there because of her shameful lifestyle that was unacceptable.
She waited until much later, thinking she would avoid a confrontation with those who she knew would avoid her and look on her with disdain. But along came Jesus, who knew when she would be there and brought along understanding, compassion, and love. He left out condemnation and judgment and instead brought GRACE. (God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense)
It was this encounter that changed her life and her lifestyle.
,p>The purpose and the vision of Women on the R.U.N. for Jesus is to minister to the total woman (spirit, soul, and body); gather women from different ethnic backgrounds and Christian denominations; open the doors of communication through fellowship; and provide the tools necessary to become the women that God has called us to be.Women on the R.U.N. for Jesus started with two women who were hungry for the Word of God. “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20). The group meets once a month to empower women to become all that God wants them to be. Please join us!

Helen Cummings-Henry is the anointed leader of “Women on the R.U.N. for Jesus. She is co-founder of “A&H Ministries”, a wife to Arthur and mother of two sons.
