Feathers
Bitter words and arrows of anger forcefully flow out like feathers, carelessly dispersed into the wind from the crossbow of the mouth. Arrows are relentlessly unleashed by the unregulated bowstring of the tongue, with the smoothness of a silk cloth, endlessly sliding across the flesh, vicious and uncontrolled, with only one real intent: to destroy.
I am eternally and mysteriously riding the winds of time and space, while simultaneously bridging the gulf of our existence that we call life.
Bitter and vicious words, like feathers caught in the fierceness of the open wind, once released, cannot be retrieved. They are left therefore forever, transforming many lives.

About the Book
This book is an emotional attempt at addressing from a humorous poetic point of view, the vast array of thoughts that are produced through close physical encounters with people who are involved in complex interpersonal relationships and their accompanying matrix of issues associated with everyday life. The author describes his style of poetry as “Expressive Poetry”.
About the Author
John Qua was born in 1949 in Bakersfield, California. He served in the Marine Corps, the Army National Guard, and the Air Force Reserves. An educator for more than twenty-seven years, he earned an AA, a BA, a master’s degree, and two teaching credentials. Currently residing in California City, California, John enjoys traveling, music, and writing.
