“There is a legend of a man who lives beneath the sea. He is a fisher of men, the last hope of all those who have been left behind. Many survivors claim to have felt his gripping hands beneath them; pushing them up to the surface; whispering strength until help could arrive. But this, of course, is only a legend.” (The Guardian, 2006) This is a true legend in the Kingdom of God and it is what Jesus is creating in each of his followers. You are that legend or you are becoming that legend. We are to be his workmanship in healing and rescuing the brokenhearted. This is our place in the final phase of not only Recovering Eden for ourselves but to help rescue the rest of God’s sons and daughters who belong in the “Higher Gan Eden.” Which means, our destination is to live together with God in the Garden of Righteousness.Here is what I mean by that, the wind whips over the trees shaking the limbs and smacking the leaves back and forth. There is a deep sense that someone is watching and overseeing your every move. Deep within your soul you sense something bigger than your small life (on this earth) is guiding the movement of your heart. You feel small but not alone. Who does this sense come from? What could be driving this passion within you? What would build this kind of anticipation in your soul? And why on earth is this peace calling to you?

About the Book
Leadership in the church has lost its God-ordained identity as small family fellowship leaders and traded it in for a Business model of leadership. The model for church life that Jesus left as a very strong impression on the New Testament was to be part of a family - that shares each other’s burdens, and offers hope and healing prayer to one another. My purpose in writing this book is to help church leaders and small group leaders re-discover their God-given roles of family leadership. I write this message also, in order to equip followers of Jesus to model and emulate Jesus Christ to others through surrender and obedience to the Holy Spirit. Galatians clearly teaches to “Walk by the Spirit” and that should be our only goal, then Jesus can “Rescue” hearts through us.
About the Author
Pastor J.D. Wilson has twelve years’ experience leading small groups. His experience is expansive, to include leading small groups that help men who are struggling with addiction (sexual and relational) to small family fellowships that focus on holistic discipleship experiences. He has helped hundreds of men and women on their journey out of sexual addiction and emotional recovery from fatherlessness. He is ordained through Hope Community Church in Newport News, Virginia, where he completed a five-year apprenticeship in church planting and leadership development. He is currently the director of small groups at his home church, Communities of Hope, Inc. who are devoted to being a “movement of disciple makers.” He loves spending time with his family, reading nonfiction, watching inspiring movies, and enjoying a fun family board game. He is married to Ruth, and they have four beautiful children that they are called to disciple and love deeply.
