My preview text is: Chapter 1
The Creative You
I watched my son when he was eight years old draw a design for his science project, a volcano. I sat listening as he conveyed to me with enthusiasm his thoughts for this project. He related his strategy and imparted why each item was necessary to form the mountain. I was not allowed to help with the project (not that I knew anything about volcanos) because it would take away his authenticity of the idea and creativity.
The mind which is the creative package infuses your imagination with thoughts that engages your emotions, feelings, ideas, perceptions and awareness. This is where your creativity is harnessed. Your thoughts are the building blocks of your personal opinions and belief. Your belief is the acceptance by the mind to receive what you believe to be true.
The thoughts that you harness are reflections of your conclusion from some process or interest. This is the essence of your individuality because your personality reflects how you think. You get to be you, if you can stay true to yourself without being mismanaged by others.
The Creative Sips are messages that will relay the plan and purpose that God designed for the earth to help you become fully aware of His Thoughts for You. God breathe His creativity (His Spirit) into man and gave him the spiritual cognizance to live an abundant life.
Sip # 1 Wonderfully Made
When you look up at the sky in the evening, you will most likely see an abyss of darkness with small specks of light called stars peeping out into the twilight. It is this sky that was once encased in a sea of complete darkness and nothingness that now bares a spectacular beam of light. In His creation God separated the light from the darkness (Genesis 1:4). He didn't blend it to make gray he simply separated it from one another. But the emptiness of darkness found its’ way into the light when satan penetrated the light of man’s soul and took dominion and authority from his grasp.
The Creation was pulled from darkness
The earth was without form and there was “nothingness” spread out on a blank canvas of darkness. Picture this in the eyes of the greatest painter ever known. Standing before his canvas thinking how can I express myself, and be moved by love to create a wonderful opulence of beauty; a utopia, with a diverse collection of inhabitants coming together collectively to show forth a display of who I am as a creator. How can I construct such a portrait where I will be remembered forever? The painter looks within himself and smile. I will make it diverse, yet each figure will be able to portray their individuality and gifts that I will bestow on them. Once I have painted my masterpiece it will be an original that others can relate to and follow the pattern. That painter the creator of the masterpiece is God. His paint brush was “let”.
Let was the instrumental Word used by God to create the earth. Let means to permit. This was the essential tool he gave to man to release his purpose in the earth to recreate and build using an idea, so if you are just sitting and doing nothing you are not following the plan and purpose God created you for.
Sip #2 Creativity must have a Purpose.
Let me release creativity
The first day God created light, a significant impression of guidance and direction. This would be a beacon to light the way. The second day He created an arch “an opening” between the waters and the Heaven. The flowing of living water “life of my Word” will always be open to them. On the third day he divided the waters and dry land and called it earth. He spoke forth a forest of trees, herbs and grass and their ability to reproduce themselves through a seed. On the fourth day he created time to separate eternity from a moment. On the fifth day he positioned life in the waters and the air; and on the sixth day he brought forth the living creatures of the land.
The creativeness strengthens with the creation of man. Man is given a distinct quality, “likeness”. He has the spiritual DNA of his father. Therefore, he had the truth and knowledge of who his father was in ALL aspects of family matters. The extraordinary makeup of this dynamic duo was that even in his flesh suit (that enclosed the spirit of Adam) he was still able to relate and communicate with God. And the expectation was that there would always be a connection between them. It is customary that when you are a part of someone’s life, there is generally a longing for closeness no matter what barriers are devised between you.
Adam was given a place to worship, a sanctuary and all the necessities to meet his needs. In what I call a wow moment in heaven, God’s provision for man and his mission (to keep the garden) was the Master’s plan! Yes, the garden, a kingdom ruled by man forged from the Word of God, created to resemble heaven and given to Adam to manage and maintain the “first property”. Can you imagine a father preparing his home for the arrival of his “newborn”? Six days! It was an immaculate display of love and thoughtfulness as the Father showered His son with all the luxuries of Heaven. This expulsion of creativity would be the embodiment of purpose.
Sips #3 My World as an Idea?
When I was young (around 12 years old) I made the profound decision that when I grew up I would live on an island with a goat, chickens and a dog. At that time I was going through a loner phase in life and didn't realize that life did not revolve around my emotions.
Several years later with the knowledge and experience of the past 44 years behind me, my decision of living on an island changed from a lifetime to a week of enjoyment and returning back to my world - work, home, writing, spending time with my sons, visiting friends, family and creating!
Having a creative mind with loads of ideas can be rewarding and challenging. You can go into the future and bring something into the present. You can build without money and hire anyone you want (like Brad Pitt) to be a spokesperson for the launch of your humanitarian work. This creative stream allows me to build anything I want, simply by thinking and focusing. I have made a better world several times in the construct of my thoughts. The homeless have homes, the sick are healed and lives that have been in turmoil have changed. I wonder what would happen if we all did a "mind construct” of compassion and felt the needs of others. Would we link together and create a bigger and better world.
Creating is enhanced when the idea is studied, planned and calculated for the cost. “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it” Luke 14:28. Here lies the plight and most of the time the pain of deliberating and debating with one's self. What’s in your heart is simple, but your mind is deliberating on how to accomplish it. Getting it out is the dilemma. In the ring facing each other is creativity and reality. Your creative side says "I can do all things" and the reality side says "what was I thinking". Gaining the courage to move on your idea is not always easy. It requires a tussle (like Jacob, Genesis 32:24-26) for God to bless you. Simply (which is not always easy) stand. You will gain strength and power as your idea links with your passion.
Sip #4 It takes Strength to Become you.
Your opinion of life is formed in many different ways. The morals and values you grew up with in your childhood, help build your path of direction. Equating the circumstances you may have encountered or the advice you were given (in the passage of life) all contribute to your destiny. But, whatever the outcome may be, you have the power to change it. How you determine this is based on the measure of faith you have achieved. The Word of God says imagine
