By His own words Christ says that God [the Father] sent him from the heaven; down to the earth. Does this make him an alien (?), or a being from another world (?), or even an ancient life force that has survived throughout the ages (?)! The world would say yes to all three; but to the believer in God (the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), Christ is the loving creator that came down from the heaven to save his creation from total corruption, destruction, and damnation.
Yet we know from scripture that he was born of the virgin woman Mary. So how is it possible for him to have been with the Father before the creation of this world, but yet born of a woman in a fleshly human body? The Apostle Paul weighed in on this same question when he said, “sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me.” From this we can deduct that God prepared the body of Mary to receive in her womb the Lord Jesus Christ; when the angel Gabriel told her, “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”
Often times while talking to the Jews, Christ Jesus told them that he came down from heaven, to the earth, and would return back to his Father (God); by means of the cross. Of course, as it was then, and is now, no one really paid attention to what he said because the mind cannot comprehend how one could come down from heaven: yet be born of a woman; for it is the true mystery of Christ. Some would make the argument that when the Holy Ghost came upon Mary, and the power of God overshadowed her, that she was impregnated by artificial insemination or (even) that God had sexual intercourse with her. This may have some truth in it, but Jesus said that he came from above; which means that he came into the body of Mary, entered into her egg, and became a baby by divine design. I’m stretching a little here, but I’m trying to make the point that Christ Jesus was, and is, and has always been himself; no matter what form he chose or desired to take or appear in.
So then it wasn’t sex that God had with Mary, but like the great doctor that he is, he ensured that her body could adjust to the reception of the “light that shineth through darkness;” in other words, her body had to grow flesh around the light: “which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Further, the reason that Mary had no complications during the delivery of the baby Jesus was because she was protected by the power of the Holy Ghost; which decreased her pain during the birth.”
Now the proof of what Christ Jesus said about his relationship with the Father in the beginning should be visible when we read the beginning scripture. However, when you look at the first five verses of Genesis there is nothing that is said that gives you the indication that Christ Jesus is there. Yet, he claims that he was there and John restated his claim. So then here is the scripture for your examination:
Genesis 1: 1-5
1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
After reading the above scripture you still can’t find the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ? Well this is where I come in. In my research I found that you have to analyze and scrutinize these verses of scripture like a detective who is trying to solve a mystery; and do it sentence by sentence, and reform the thought of what it is saying in our mind. This is what I came up with when I enacted this process:
[verse 1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Why didn’t it say the heavens? To God the universe and cosmos are just one big singular body; but to us humans it is divided into multiple segments of stars, suns, planets, galaxies, constellations, solar system(s), and interstellar space. I found one scripture that may bear this out: “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lords: but the earth hath he given to the children of men,” (Psalm 115:16). Someone once said that the earth was the center of the universe? If you take this verse at its face value you could come to the conclusion that it may be true; for the sun, moon and stars are created on the fourth day of creation. But to further the point, it is clearly seen that in the beginning there was only the vast heaven and the lonely earth.
