About the Book

Edward Seto was born in communist Bulgaria. He has a bachelor’s degree in electromechanical engineering and automation of processes. He has seen the equality of people in their poverty in a communist country, and later as an emigrant the opportunity and democracy of a new capitalist world.

He is one of the founders of a Bulgarian East Orthodox church in Montreal, Canada. His belief in God and in the power of good has helped him find his way to a better life on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

He has worked as production manager and as vice president of a manufacturing company in Canada for twenty years. Now, he lives with his wife in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Father of two daughters and a grandfather, he loves his family.

"I did have some hesitations buying this book, but now I am so glad I did it.

It gives you so many history facts about Armenians in Bulgaria, that you would not be able to find probably anywhere. If you have any Armenian connections, it is a must buy book. If you were Bulgarian, and you are curious about Armenians and the Armenians in Bulgaria, this book would give you so much information that you would not find in Bulgarian history books. Or at least I did not see or learn while in Bulgarian school. And all of this is presented in one very interesting way that makes you read the book in a ?single breath?.

There are three different time frames that are touched in the book ? the liberation time from the Ottoman rule, the early communist?s epoch in Bulgaria, and some recent times in America ? Canada and Bulgaria after the ?democratic? changes.

As anyone is having its own way of seeing the things, it is very interesting to see other people?s vision about the state of the world and possible future developments. Personally I think that the author is exaggerating a little bit the good of the western world and the very bad of the eastern bloc countries. After all, he got very good education in Bulgaria. In contrary of the thought, that no one is interested there in developing his skills, as you would end up in the same salary basket and stay poor, his mother and father were well respected in their place of work and even offered to be part of the system. Our hero of the book is lucky enough to escape and end up in a country where the corruption is not a problem, as it is described for Bulgaria. But also do not forget that this is a fiction book, not a documentary, even though it sounds like presenting all as real. There are some fantastic elements involved that made the book even more interesting.
