Lenny and Leanne are neighboring leaves on an apple tree in Mr. and Mrs. Gardener's yard. Together they experience life, from birth to growing up and going to work. Together they meet and overcome several challenges. They also teach us something about the wonders of God's creation, and the relationship that He created between plants and people.
But the story of Lenny and Leanne goes beyond life, and with them we learn also about death and resurrection, directly from Jesus Himself. With them we are finally led to worship and praise God for His great love for all humankind, and for the hope we have of life with Him for eternity.

About the Author
Martin Barlau has devoted his life to Christian education. He served for thirty-one years as a teacher and principal of Christian elementary schools. More recently, he and his wife, Jean Marie, have consulted with congregations throughout the nation to help them inaugurate full-time programs of Christian early childhood education.
In 2010, Barlau was granted an honorary Doctor of Letters degree by his alma mater, Concordia University, in Seward, Nebraska. He has authored pieces for the Lutheran Education Association and for Issues in Christian Education, a publication of Concordia University.
The family includes four children and five grandchildren, all but one of whom currently live in Colorado.
