Break out! Let sin get old to you as certainly as your prison cell is. Let it get to be repulsive to you as you remember where it took you. Use those iron bars to anger you that you’ve been locked up, having fallen for the lies of the world, including those of your so-called friends, family members, coworkers, and church members you’ve supped with. Take responsibility for your own uncrucified flesh and hate, with unforgiving victory, the devil himself. Hate the predicament you are in, thanking God that it is wrong for lies to hold you captive. Hate evil and cling to good! Let yourself meditate on the stench of a lifestyle God never intended for you to have. Become disgusted with your bad and sinful choices, and the lifestyle you chose (if you are guilty.) Then choose to be a free incarcerated man. Become a Joseph, a Peter, a Stephen, a Paul! Do you not know these men? Let’s delve into their attitudes, their reactions, and their actions in the following chapter. Gentlemen, there are men who have been locked up and left for dead who yet chose to arise, change their position, shine, and let the glory of the Lord literally be seen upon them. Beloved, be honest and ask yourself, “What could I have done differently?” Think of your past attitudes and your past behaviors. The better question begs this question: “What am I going to do about my predicament now?” Selah.

About the Author
Ann Marie Turner has earned a Bachelor of Theology. She has personally ministered in the prison setting for over ten years. God has instilled in her a love and compassion for men who many people reject and fear. Ann has proclaimed to such men God’s offer of love and forgiveness; a hope and a victory that is still available to them.
