A cocoon is a covering or case that encloses a kind of supernatural metamorphosis that occurs out of eye sight.
We’re taking this phenomenal event of God’s creation, and applying it to a passing away from this life, and entering into a spiritual dimension. As one sheds this used human body, in a process unseen by human eyes, similar to being in a cocoon, we receive a new glorified eternal body. It could be compared to a drab caterpillar emerging as a beautiful butterfly…and flying away.
Those left behind in this life don’t observe this major change. What the living see is the mortal body left below by the one who has flown away.
Hebrews 9:27-28, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (28) So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Holy Bible, King James Version).
Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus; and may your butterflies come also.
