In this study on numbers used in the Bible, it will be apparent that it is no coincidence what God has recorded in His word. It reveals the wholeness of God’s creation and His plan. I mean think about it. Is it not true that the earth is a perfect set distance from the sun? There are formulas created by God for the purpose of all creation. Right from the beginning in Genesis there are seven days or periods of time designated for His creation. Have you ever asked yourself why seven and not eight or ten days? Or why does it even matter? Or why did it rain for forty days and nights in the flood of the days of Noah? Why did it take forty days for the completion of the Ten Commandments? Why did Jesus fast for forty days and nights? Why are there forty angels used in the delivery of judgment by God in the book of Revelations? Or why was Jesus crucified on the third hour? Why were there three men crucified and not just one or two? Why did Jesus have to be buried for three days and not for some other amount of days? Why did Noah upon the receding of the waters send out three birds, each seven days apart? Why are the numbers three and seven used continuously in the book of Revelations? Or here is a good one, how can God have three attributes (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) and also be composed of the seven spirits of God?..For the purpose of stimulation of thought, let’s use the number three as an example. There are three principles of sin. There are three types of animals that were required or designated for atonement of sin. There were three signs given to the people of Israel confirming that God had chosen Moses to lead them out of Egypt. Three times a year was designated to celebrate the goodness of God. Moses interceded in prayer three times when God was going to destroy the Israelites because of their sin while in the wilderness. Balaam makes seven altars to the Lord, three times. David was given a choice of one of three curses to be put upon himself. Three times Elijah spread himself over a child that had died and the child came back to life. Jonah was in the belly of a great fish for three days and three nights. There were three gifts given to Jesus upon his birth. Satan tempted Jesus after forty days of fasting in three ways. The ministry of Jesus was three years. There were three disciples that witnessed Jesus, Moses, and Elijah (3 people) at the event at the Mt. of transfiguration. Peter denied Christ three times. Peter was asked if he loved the Lord three times. Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane before His crucifixion three times. In Jesus by Numbers you will discover that the number three represents “perfection, consecration and or purification. The number three is one of the most significant numbers that is used repeatedly throughout scriptures. Not only does it represent God, but it also reflects God working thru a man. It can also reveal God working thru circumstances or events to purify or to make perfect. It represents someone or something consecrated to God. The following scriptures are a few references supporting the statements above. From the beginning there are three principles of sin, 1) temptation, 2) the act, 3) the lack of accountability or to blame someone else. (Genesis 3).Three separate times there are birds sent out of the Ark to test the waters, or three sets of seven days (Genesis 8).There were three types of animals required for atonement of sin. ( Genesis 15) Moses performs three set of forty days in completing the Ten Commandments. The first time happens after he comes off of Mt. Sinai and smashes the commandments out of anger. Later the Lord wants to destroy the Israelites and Moses intercedes in prayer for forty days. Then Moses goes back upon Mt. Sinai and receives the Ten commandments from the Lord the second time, confirming them.( Duet.9, Exodus 24, Exodus 34).In this passage you will learn why the commandments had to be written twice, the significance of the number forty and the meaning of sum of one hundred and twenty days having a symbolic meaning all referring to the events that led to the completion of the Ten Commandments. This is just a preview of what you can discover within Jesus by Numbers, where you find answers to your questions.
