“Bible Unity” refutes the translations and revisions of God’s Word. The translators and revisers who continue their attempts to produce an accurate English version of Scripture after 900 publications are obviously uninspired and probably biased. Had they been inspired by God, they would all be in agreement, and there would be one correct and indisputable English version of God’s Holy Word for all Christians able to read.
God would not be God if His Word were deemed insufficient and in need of supplementation and alteration from men. God’s Word is so sensitive that it can tolerate no modification from men. It wants to be supreme or nothing. It cleanses us from every impurity. Not one word in original Scripture is purposeless for original Scripture is God’s Word.
God will not be praised and criticized, or honored in one word and despised in another. Only complete loyalty is consistent and God pleasing. God’s original Word is God’s Word; it is wrong to criticize it. Whoever says any part of God’s original Word is a trifling matter blasphemes God and His original Word. God is obliged to be faithful to His original Word and promise. When translators make concessions, they testify that God’s original Word and doctrine of men are of equal importance. To recede from God’s Word, or to alter it, is something that does not befit God; for he cannot deny Himself. As rendered in 2nd Timothy 2:13: “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” His Word abides forever.
When thoughts, symbols, images, and cultural idioms are translated from one language to another some loss of meaning always occurs. Hebrew and Greek languages have idioms (the language or dialect of people in certain regions). They have concepts difficult to translate. Cultural metaphors do not translate easily. The “mind map” changes no matter the effort to maintain it. Culture and language are intertwined in human communication making it difficult to understand one without the other. We cannot be assured that today’s scholars will accurately interpret the meanings of sacred texts. They are missing a key element, which is direct contact with the knowledge of the culture in which the language was used. When we rely on theological, linguistic, or the cultural understanding of the translator, we are further removed from word-for-word translation. The text in English becomes easier to read while becoming inaccurate.
The serious reader looks for Christ in the Bible. It is the principal reason why Scripture was given by God. Men are to search, and learn that He, Mary’s Son, is the One who is able to give eternal life to all who come to Him; not Mary. Therefore, he who would correctly and profitably read Scripture should endeavor to find Christ in it. He then finds life eternal without fail. If I study to find that Christ came from heaven for the sake of my salvation, became man, suffered, died, was buried, rose, and ascended to heaven so that through Him I enjoy reconciliation with God, forgiveness of all my sins, grace, righteousness, life eternal, then reading and studying Scripture is instrumental in my salvation. If Christ does not speak to me and make me His own as I study His Word, salvation will continue to elude me.
Uniform instruction in the Church should be given serious consideration toward facilitating study procedures using original Scriptures. Unity via reference to the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek is a teaching method that should be developed in all Christian Churches not already using it.
Scheduling a semi-monthly class, for the teaching leadership in the Church is the responsibility of the board of education in each Christian Church. Since the pastor is usually the only person in the Church who is knowledgeable in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, it is his responsibility to teach from the Hebrew and Aramaic in the old Testament and Greek New Testament (Law and Gospel). This enables the pastor to utilize the Church’s educators to assist him in his responsibilities. However, it is his continuing personal responsibility to visit and observe each class periodically to ascertain correct doctrine is being presented. Bible study leaders have been known to distort Scripture and lead attendees away from Christianity into sectarianism and cults.
Being properly prepared, these educators teach in English or the language of their community from the original Hebrew and Greek. Each teacher then uses this material from original Scriptural messages as originally Authored. This unifies that which is being taught to each member in the family for discussions in the same lesson since adults and children are being taught with the same lesson plan. Each teacher is responsible for adapting this plan to conform to his class’s grade level with the pastor’s assistance. As a result everyone in the Church is learning the Bible as originally Authored. Each student makes copious notes in their “Scriptural Differences” notebook for reference as they daily study their Bibles in English. Our Lord taught His Apostles for three years before sending them out to teach. Pastors can and should do it with the educational leadership in their Churches and also with parishioners during Bible studies. As an ongoing program in Christian Churches, attendees will gain a greater understanding of the Author’s messages as recorded in His original Word, and greater unity will have been achieved.
In Ephesians 4:13-15, Paul expresses his concern for unity as follows: “Till we all come to unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to perfect man, to the measure of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait to deceive, But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things unto Him who is head-Christ.” When we are all in one accord while comprehending God’s original Word, we will be united as Christians.
