What is the Heart? There are four definitions of the heart that we will consider in this chapter, the physical heart, the metaphoric heart, the natural heart, and the new heart. The Physical Natural Heart We all have a physical heart by which we live and breathe. Webster defines this as “a muscular organ in vertebrates that receives blood from the veins and pumps it through the arteries to oxygenate the blood during its circuit (Random House Webster's College Dictionary 2000, P. 607).” If this heart is destroyed, so is our life. About the Book
What is in your heart? Do you know what kind of heart you have? Do you know where your Biblical heart is? Does God look on our physical heart or a spiritual heart? Do you know what is temporary and what is eternal? Do you know if you are ready for heaven? Do you know you can be ready? Do you know you can have a savior that saves you from the penalty of sin? This book is written with the purpose of leading of leading or confirming the reader's way of eternal life by the One True God of all people. Hear what Jesus prayed before he was crucified. "Now this is eternal life: that they might know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought YOU glory on earth by completing the work you gave Me to do. And now, Father, glorify Me in your presences with glory I had with you before the world began." (John (17:13-5 The "what", "where", and "how" of the Biblical heart are studied in this book.
About the Author
The author is an 83-year-old, Spiritually minded, born-again Christian of forty years. Married 69 years, but widowed three years ago from her pastoral husband, who was also an author, Clair Chandler, she is the mother of four children, a grandmother of twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, with a tenth one on the way, as of today. As the administrator, she started and then taught a preschool for nineteen years and was a Sunday School teacher for over forty years. She is a graduate of Binghamton Central High School, Binghamton NY, and a graduate of Child Evangelism Fellowship, Warren, MO and also took credited classes at Practical Bible College, Johnson City, NY and Philadelphia College of the Bible, Philadelphia, PA. It is her heart’s desire to share her adventure in Christ with as many souls as possible. The heart is one component of the body that is in jeopardy today. The Biblical Heart is a book that was written to prove what the heart is, where it is, and how to use it. Her purpose is to cause the reader of any age to realize how God sees the heart and by what means it is controlled. Hopefully, the result of this book would be to lead a person to see their need of a Savior, Jesus Christ, in their life and that others may continue to grow deeper in their faith through the Word of God. “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others 2 Timothy 2:2 NIV.”
