There is something lacking in God's Church namely a pouring out that releases the flow of His life to an unbelieving world. We are antiseptic and correct but we are not fragrant. This woman was used of God to break the religious stereotype of the mean spirited religious worshipper. The worshipper who seems to have all the right answers but lacks the aroma of the Spirit. She was used to express broken delight before God , holding nothing back. She represents the type of believer who the world would take offence to. To become anything else is to become something lesser than what God intends or desires. Jesus' voice is still booming today as it did back then, "Leave the woman alone". The disciples did not understand the value of her worship nor does the world today. The world wants to restrict us to a worship that trickles; controlled and manipulated. They are okay with our Sunday morning expressions which are limited , powerless and palatable.
The moment we decide to bring into our worship an extravagance that is beyond the norm of what is taught, or required, to satisfy our need for religious duty we will excite the world to persecute us.
This kind of lavish worship will result in suffering. This type of suffering is redemptive, apocalyptic and will be a part of the process of the return of Christ. This dimension of worship is what Jesus required then and this is what the Church needs to walk in now.

About the Author
Pastor Dino Nicholas is the founder of Powerhouse Ministries in Westmoreland, Jamaica. A graduate of World Harvest Bible College, he sits on the board of Maranatha Ministries International and serves as apostolic oversight to several other churches in Jamaica and the United States. He has been blessed and is now being broken to be served as a voice to the nations, God’s end-time spokesman on matters purely of the kingdom. Conference speaker, teacher, and dynamic preacher, he brings to the table over twenty years of spiritual knowledge garnered as a son of his spiritual fathers.
