Chapter 9 ~ Tug of War
John 6:60. I reiterate, “This is a hard teaching, who can accept it?”
I am sure we have all had to deal with some sort of death as we were growing up; maybe you have been fortunate and can honestly say you cannot relate to the death of a mortal. Perhaps the passing of a beloved pet is your only understanding of loss or death. I suppose it is possible that you may be one of the fortunate who have not yet had to go through such a time as this. If that is you, God bless you!
Maybe yours was the loss of a grandparent or even an older family member or close family friend. Still it can leave you whirling. Attending the viewing will force you to grasp the thought process that life here will end for all of us. In so many cases, people are placed in our lives for just a season.
Maybe as a child you were left to figure out your thoughts and work out your emotions of dealing with the certainty of death for us all.
How about the death of a dream?
Or even a relationship?
Imagine, then, losing all of these things in the same exact millisecond.

How many times had I unknowingly passed someone who was in a place of grief or sadness? Had I seen the face of despair as I passed them, unable to read their hearts cry?
Understanding and making sense of why bad things have to happen do not always come on the heels of that experience. Sometimes we have to wait and allow God to reveal things in his timing.
Watch your strong opinions in a situation that you have little or no experience or understanding! I like to say, “I have not noticed any of my shoes missing, so I’m quite certain you have no idea what I’m walking in.”
Most importantly, go to the one who can ease your pain and who loves you deeply and give your life over to him now so that eternity looks more like living then dying.
About the Author
Spilling with tears, pain and grief, her Heavenly father used her deceased husband’s meditations and prayers, uniting them with her journal pages. Only God himself could meld it all together using it for healing through Faith. A treasure: for family friends and a worthy read for all who must grieve.
