God’s Path to Intimacy

Has your heart ever yearned to experience what took place in the garden when God walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day? Is it possible to find that place in our prayer and fellowship time where His presence abides so glorious and majestic that nothing will ever compare, or assume that place in your heart again?
Many of us have had a difficult time finding fulfillment in our daily prayer time. We desire to pray with meaning, and yet we walk away feeling that we have not touched the heart of God or felt His presence. If you have experienced these feelings, you are not alone. Most of us struggle in the area of our communion time with the Lord, yet, this was truly what we were created for.
So often we launch into prayer without thought of first taking the necessary steps to approach the presence of God in a manner in which He first established for the children of Israel. Although we understand that the Tabernacle and its furnishings no longer exist, the spiritual realities shadowed forth in this dwelling place of God still remain as a model for us today when approach His presence.
In the following pages I will endeavor to set forth spiritual insights that are still applicable to the heart and life of the believer in His approach to God. It is my hope by studying the steps taken by the priest throughout the Tabernacle of Moses, that we will see how the natural will bring forth spiritual truths to us today. I believe these truths to be helpful in bringing a whole new meaning to our time with the Lord. No longer would I view prayer from my own perspective, but with the leading of the Holy Spirit I could now have intimate heartfelt communion with God!
In our time of prayer at the Altar of Incense we will have the opportunity to pray for those who are on our heart. “God’s Path to Intimacy” has provided a place for you to develop your own prayer photo book within this book. By creating your own photo book, it will be a daily reminder to pray for the needs of family and friends as you look at each photo.
Included in “God’s Path to Intimacy” are 25 Spiritual Helps that will assist you in understanding more of the many issues that Jesus spoke about. They give us deeper knowledge of such issues as brokenness, temptation, perseverance, and trust. Each topic has laid a biblical foundation and is followed by a scriptural prayer.
When you stand before the presence of God, learn to wait upon Him and allow Him to speak into your heart His thoughts, burdens and visions. We all want God to speak into our lives, or we would not hold this book in our hands. He is more willing to speak than we are to listen. Listening is a skill we all need to develop.
“I will stand at my guard post and I will keep watch and see what He will speak to me. Then the Lord said, record the vision” (Habakkuk 2:1-3).
