David told the guys at his work that I have cancer and one guy told my husband that it was his fault. That I fall under his umbrella of protection, and since I have cancer, that means he has sin in his life that needs dealt with. First of all I can’t believe anyone would believe that or tell someone else that. That it is my husband’s fault. What bologna. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. John 9:2-3 Ok, here is where I want to tell you that you will need a thick skin to walk through this. People are going to be insensitive and downright thoughtless. There will be outrageous, disgusting comments made to you and about you. It’s wrong, yes. But it’s going to happen. You can waste your energy being upset when it does, or prepare yourself to let the comments and cruelty slide off your back and not bring you down.
Father in heaven I pray that you will protect my friend’s heart and shut the mouths of mean people and that, Father, she will not have to go through the same cruelty that I had to experience. Please help her focus on your goodness and your healing. Amen

About the Author
Beth Wilson was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of forty six. After living with multiple sclerosis for the past seven years, this was just one more obstacle for her to overcome. Her desire is to offer a helping hand and provide comfort and hope to those struggling. Beth and her husband, David, have four adult children and make their home in Oklahoma.
