When it comes down to power and authority; power is one thing but authority is everything. Just like faith without works is dead. Power without authority is just as dead. When Jesus entered Jerusalem the chief priests and the elders did not question Jesus’ power. They wanted to know by what authority did Jesus do the things he did and who gave it to him? It’s one thing to have power but power is of no effect without the authority or the rights to use it. A prime example is the seven sons of Sceva in Acts 19:13-16. There is power in the name of Jesus. This no one or no demon can deny but they can deny your authority and your rights to use that power. In the case of the seven sons of Sceva, they didn’t have the God-given rights to use the power they was claiming and the unclean spirit knew it. The sons of Sceva wanted the power without the obligation of believing in the one the power belonged to or came from. That demon whipped their butts all over the place even though it was outnumbered 7 to 1. The funny thing about the whole mess is that the unclean spirit not only questioned their rights but their legitimacy as well. Even the unclean spirits know that unless you have legitimacy you have no authority or rights to the things of God. Jesus died so that we could reclaim the rights given to us from our Heavenly Father when he created us and our claim is verified through our adoption papers. Roman 8:14-17 for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption. Whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. We have been adopted into the royal family and have been granted all rights, power and authority as a legitimate son or daughter of God. So the next time an unclean spirit wants to questions your legal rights… demonstrate it to him. Set the

Proverb 18:21 Death and life is in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. You have what you say you have and you don’t have what you haven’t declared in your life. You don’t understand that the power and authority that has been bestowed upon you has no limits. Christians, I say to you again; because of the power and authority that was bestowed upon you can speak life or death into your life. You can speak life or death over your finances. You can speak life or death over your health. You can speak life or death over anything you choose. Beware, because I did say life or death; this works both ways. If you say that you have problems then that is exactly what you will have …PROBLEMS!!! I have got into the habit of saying that I have opportunities. When tribulations rise up and come against my life I call it what it truly is… an opportunity. It’s an opportunity for God to do something miraculous in my life. I cast down all obstacles in my life. So instead of stressing over what Satan is trying to do in my life I exercise my authority over him and over my circumstances. 2Timothy 3, the emphasis is on verse 5: Having the form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
THE FORM, THE FORM, THE FORM.
How can we claim to be Christians without claiming the power that goes with it. That’s just like ordering a BLT sandwich and then taking the lettuce and tomatoes off. There is no such thing as half a Christian. You either are or you are not. No in-between or gray area. What is a lukewarm Christian? I’ll tell you what it is… IT’S A WASTE. The power of creation is ours and as Christians, we have to start creating (speaking) the positive into our lives. When I was just a babe in Christ I wasn’t just hungry for understanding the word of God but I was also thirsty for wisdom and discernment of his word as well. What I found out was that when it came to power and authority, there was no such thing as being timid. There is no power in doubt and there is certainly no authority in fear. Have you ever heard the saying that a animal can smell fear. Well picture a demon as the hideous looking spiritual creature it is. It can smell your fear a mile away. You might have the power and you might have the authority with the rights to use it but if you doubt that power because of those fleshly senses (sight, taste, touch, smell, and hearing), you might find the very thing that should be bowing down and cowarding away actually rising up in rebellion against you. Take authority over the demons in your life and dismiss them with the power that that has been invested in you. Tell depression that he's got to go. Tell stress, worry, and fustration to take a hike. Give proverty his walking papers and mean it when you say it: DEMONS, YA'LL GOTTA GO AND I MEAN RIGHT NOW!!! And don't give them that prissy, proper tone either. You know which one I'm talking about. The voice you use when you are at work or around business folks. DANG IT ALL CHRISTIANS; this is business but this isn't the time to be proper. Christians you do realize that they are not going to leave without a fight and depending on your fight game; this can be a 1 round knockout or a 12 round knock down, dragged out title bout. Either way, you are literally in a fight for you life. So ladies, kick off those high heels and sharpen the claws because this is about to be one of those eye gauging, hair pulling affairs. Guys I know you know what to do. Pull out the brass knuckles and the steel toed boots. Don't you think it's about time you show those demons who the boss really is? THE POWER IS YOURS
