Love
Love, we understood it, at the Cross of Calvary, When, our Savior paid the ransom, and set the captives free
Our, Lord, with your perfect holiness, was the only way it could be done, Oh Father God you loved us so, you sent your only Son!
We saw love accept the thorns that pierced our blessed Savior’s head, We saw it in our Savior’s, hands, that made the Heavens and the Earth, and in the hands that bled!
We saw love all the way to Gethsemane!
And a repented, world living free!
Our Father’s love reached far and wide, to seek us for His own!
And His love is all-sufficient, Oh come boldly to the Throne!
For our Jesus does rejoice, when just, one sinner does repent !
For He knows that when this happens, we’ve received the love He sent!
Love, is the promise, He will never take away, For, we received Salvation, on Repentance Day!
Love was the “footsteps in the sand,”
Love is the hope that held our hand
Love snatched us from a world of shame,
Where destruction tried to make its claim
Love lifted us from earthly care,
And carried us on wings of prayer
Love is the truth forever more,
Love is our Savior, we adore!
Love wept for sinners for a truth, one could not see, And love hoped for Salvation, that would set the captives free!
Love did not condemn us-though our sentence said it should, Love did not forsake us, though the world said it would
His love is faithful, merciful and kind, His love is all transforming, and can change a wretched mind!
His love is all -sufficient, for all eternity!
For His precious blood has given, us a new identity
Love is really all around us, in everything our Savior made!
And in the firm foundation, that our Blessed Father laid!
Love doth not remind us of forgiven sins of past!
But forgiven doth remind us, that we have love at last
Our Father’s love did justify, long debt we owed, but could not pay Our Father’s love did intercede, when pain, could not find the words to pray
His love lifted us from a hell, that called our name!
And His mercy and compassion, remembered not our shame!
Love walked us to the alter, as we heard our Father’s call, And our hearts began to sing! Lord we surrender all!
Love has arisen, yes! Our Lord in all His Glory holds us fast, Forever, Blessed Father, for we are home at last!
Amen! Amen!
