About the Author
Rita Wells has worked with children most of her life. She was an elementary school teacher for twenty-one years and taught in Virginia and California public schools. She has loved stories and books since she was a young child, and writing Janie Plants a Tree has been a lifelong dream. This is a story that she loves and that her mother loved to tell. Mrs. Wells is now retired and lives with her husband, John, in Apple Valley, California. This is her first book.
