How should I live as a Christian?
Introduction.
You might be a Christian at this point while you start to read this book, maybe for only 1 month or already for 40 years or maybe you wonder what it means to be a Christian.
It is great to be a Christian. Not only do you have the promise of eternal life through the sacrifice of Jesus as atonement for all your sins, but you also have the opportunity to live closely with your Creator and to live a life with meaning; a life in which you can experience God's power working in your weaknesses and limitations, a life that glorifies God. But if you want all this, it also takes some action from your part. You can sit on your chair and just wait for God to do all kinds of things in your life, but then you might have to wait for a long time. It is up to us, to make time to read the Bible, pray, go to Church and connect with other Christians, so that by these means we can advance in life and develop our relationship with God.
Through His Word, the Bible, God desires to teach us and guide us as a lovingly Father, so we can really live our lives to the fullest; not only a life that makes a difference, but also a life in which we can experience true joy, no matter what the circumstances are and a life in which we can overcome every difficulty through God's power working inside of us.
Through prayer we can connect with our heavenly Father, to talk with Him about everything that is on our hearts, knowing that our secrets are safe with Him. We can bring to Him whatever concerns us, knowing that God is able to do the impossible.
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible. Mark 10:27 (KJV).
When we do that, we can experience God's peace, even in the most difficult circumstances.
The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:5-7.
When we go to Church and connect with other Christians, we have the opportunity to worship God in song and in dance, learn new things and be a blessing to one another. God gave each one of us at least one gift and we should use these gifts for each other.
As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:10.
If we have the opportunity to go to Church and connect with other Christians, but we refuse to do that, we might be robbing other Christians from being blessed by the gift(s) that God has given to us. And in the same way we could be robbing ourselves from the opportunity to be blessed by others.
I pray that this book will help you to get closer to God, to find out what God's will is for your life and to discover how beautiful it is to be a child of God. Certainly, being a Christian has many benefits.
