“Keiff, is this the right room?” Keniff asked.
“I think so, Keniff,” Keiff replied. “This is the room that Michael said she would be in. This room has a sad energy about it!”
“I know it does. I feel everything you do, remember?” Keniff tried to give Keiff a reassuring look. “But right now, we need to find the little girl. We will discuss the room later, okay?” By the look on his brother’s face, Keniff could tell that he had spotted her. They had shared the same connection and emotions since their creation, and Keniff was now seeing an angel wanting to cry. And he felt the same way when he finally saw her.
There they stood, staring at the tiny little girl. Sitting on a dirty hardwood floor, her knees pulled up to her chest, she was using her hands to make her own imaginary friends, talking to herself as she rocked back and forth. Keiff and Keniff were in shock. They didn’t have a clue as to what to do or how to help her.
“Keniff,” Keiff said. “Please … please help her!” Immediately they both greeted her with soft voices, calling her by name.
“Help her with what?” a quiet voice said. The little girl was staring at them with an excited smile on her face. What was puzzling to them was that she had responded to Keiff’s comment to Keniff.
Keniff asked her, “Can you see us?”
“Yes!” she answered. “And I think I can see your wings too. How did you know my name is Angela?”
“A friend told us your name,” Keniff said.
“Ohhhh,” she said, nodding her head and still smiling at them. She then proudly began to tell them about her friend, saying that she hadn’t seen him for a while and really missed him. Both angels listened closely as she spoke of him. But then her demeanor seemed to change quickly from excitement to loneliness. They both did a good job of hiding the sadness and grief that they were now feeling for her.
She then asked them, “How come I only see two wings?” Patiently she waited for an answer.
The two brothers glanced at each other and then looked back to her. “We don’t know why we only have one pair of wings.”
She replied, “Oh, well, that’s okay! What are your names?”
“My name is Keniff, and my brother’s name is Keiff.”
She stared for a second and then gave an approving nod of her head. “Well, your mom sure did pick out good names for you two!”
