The only way you know whether anything is on fire is whether it will start another fire. The metaphor of 'fire' is used to describe our relationship with Christ. In the so-called Gospel of Thomas, found in the dry sands of Egypt, Jesus says: "I came to cast fire upon the earth. He who comes close to me comes close to the fire."

About the Author

Dr. Gazzard was born in Anguilla, West Indies, and educated in the United Kingdom, Belize, and Nova Scotia. He attended Mount Allison University, Pine Hill Divinity Hall, The Atlantic School of Theology, The Toronto School of Theology, and the University of Canterbury (CCE). After serving churches in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec, he moved to New Zealand. In 2007, upon returning to Montreal, he founded the Higher Than An Eagle television ministry. He is the author of two previous books: Adventure in Living and Wait for the Crisis.
