Devin and the Greedy Ferret

Next thing Devin knew, he, Frederick, and Seraphina were boarding the hovercraft. When they arrived on the coast of Belgium, they parked the hovercraft and headed for Germany. When they got to the big scary Nurburgring, Seraphina parked her Camaro, but Frederick, without even bothering to let Devin out, immediately got on the track and engaged his launch control.
"All right, Devin," said Frederick. "Now you shall learn the track. Are you ready?"
Devin grabbed the ceiling handle as tightly as he could and gulped.
"Ready," he said bravely. Next thing he knew, his head was pulled backward by the GT-R's acceleration. When he looked up, the car was on the right hand side of the track even though they were approaching the first left curve. Devin was 98% sure Frederick was about to crash. So he leaned on the dashboard and squinted his eyes, but then his whole body was aggressively pulled to the right as the car flew around the curve. When he looked up again, the track had become a genuine blur, making him feel as if he were strapped to a monster truck rim at 145 miles per hour.
Seconds later, he hit his head on Frederick's shoulder as the car flew around the first right curve. In less than a minute, before Devin knew it, he and Frederick went over a small but frightening jump, which reminded Devin of the Stingray at Noah's Ark Water Park where he and his family had been when he was only 13. Even though he was accustomed to street racing, he had never been so frightened by extreme speed. Also, he had never known any ferret could drive so well.
A couple corners later, Devin regretted taking the long trip to Germany. In fact, he hadn’t felt this much regret in his life, but worse was yet to come. When he and Frederick got on the giant, southeast straightaway, they quickly reached 185 miles per hour, reminding Devin of a 40,000-foot skydive from about a year ago. The last few corners flashed before Devin’s eyes and were scarier than the big, blinding Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags. Frederick grinned almost literally from ear to ear, but Devin nearly threw up.
"Now that you've learned the track," Frederick told Devin when they finished the lap, "it's time for you to practice." But Devin was severely dizzy from the serious speed.
"C'mon, c'mon!" shouted Frederick. "You said you wanted to save your friends. Do you want to or not?"
"Yes," said Devin, "but I'm so...” He clutched his head. “Hey, wait a second. How are we ever going to win a race on a track that makes us so dizzy?"
"I'm not dizzy," said Frederick, "so why should you be?"
"I can't help it!" snapped Devin, and stormed out of the car, but he was still so dizzy that he collapsed on the ground, and the GT-R disappeared for another practice lap. Five minutes later, however, a strange man came up to him.
