A Light in the Sea

Titus squinted in the early morning light, with his one eye, to catch a glimpse of the woman he’d been dreaming about. What he saw enraged him. Only Paco and five men were approaching in the carriage. Titus flew to the rail and glared out at the men.
As Paco and the men boarded the ship Paco knew that the Captain was holding his temper and most of the time that was not a good sign. Captain Ordonez could be as cool as a cucumber and then slice the life out of a man with his sword. His victim’s staring death in the face and not knowing what had just happened.
“Paco!” Titus’ voice broke the dead silence of the morning air. “Where is SHE?”
Paco scrambled on over to where his Captain was standing and trembled with dread. He began to tell the huge pirate how he had finally found the girl’s house only to learn that she wasn’t there. Paco found out the name of the ship that the young woman was trying to flee aboard, the Caribbean Queen, captained by Raoul Rivera. After taking the opportunity to kidnap the girl’s father he returned to the Pirate Demon as fast as he could.
At hearing the name Rivera, Titus felt as if he had been dealt a mighty blow. To think, he was so close to meeting the runt who had disfigured him and left him for dead seventeen years ago. Yes, revenge would be sweet when he caught up to that ship! Titus was pulled from his dark thoughts when he heard Paco say something about Brenda’s father.
Paco glanced up to catch a peek of Titus’ face to see how the pirate was taking the news. He was relieved to see that Titus’ attention had been shifted to the older man that was bound and gagged. The man was being dragged onto the deck and pushed in front of the Captain.
