Feed them Yourself

The book is about the challenge Jesus put before the disciples when they asked him to release the crowd to go home so they can get some food to eat because it became dark, but instead of releasing the people Jesus asked the disciples to feed the crowd themselves. They were unprepared, they gave all the excuses, but Jesus was serious. Then they began to assess what they had and found that they had five breads and two fish. He asked the disciples to make people sit by group of 50. He gave thanks over the food and broke the bread and the fish that he gave to the disciple for distribution. He fed the crowd bread, fish. Can pastors and church leaders answer to this challenge within the context of the body of believers? One of the excuses the disciples had was they did not have enough to feed the crowd. Jesus used the little they had to feed 5,000 men no mention to women and children. Jesus was available to care for the crowd even though it was not part of his schedule for the day. He taught them, heal the sick and fed them. The church needs to have an holistic approach in ministry to provide the necessary care for God's flock. The service to Jesus is expressed by the love his servant has for him. One other challenge is found in the book of Acts that: There was no needy person in the midst of believers. The apostles solved real problems the early Christian face within the body of believers. This is a statement churches in this present century can't make. Pastors and church leaders can make great difference in believers lives to bring real change that presents the reality of the Gospel. If they are willing to learn from biblical model of leadership in the Old and New Testament they will discover strategies an other great way they can make difference in the lives of believers in this present century. Yes, the believers are on their way to heaven, but they still live on earth. Therefore, they have to deal with many challenges they face in their daily life in this present century. I find that the church is not doing enough to help the people in the pews or chairs, specially the needy person, who face all kinds of challenges. A believer can worship the Lord and feel the presence of God, feel that he or she is ready to go in heaven, but that does not prevent him or her to still struggle with many issues in his or her life such as: Emotional, family, divorce, financial, social, job, spiritual, health, physical, physiological issues just to name a few that I addressed in the book. The church needs qualified leaders to answer to these real challenges the believers face on a daily basis. The bible remains a great source and resource of information of the contribution of biblical leadership of the Old and New Testaments. The examples that Jesus left for the pastors and church leaders to follow can open the mind of the leaders of the church about Jesus mindset of doing ministry. Jesus is the owner of the church. His love for the church, his investment in the disciples make the church what it is today, his trust and his vision, mission for his church mean a lot and can challenge the pastors and church leaders to do ministry with love. Jesus in his dialogue with his disciples wanted to know what people said that he was. The answer of Peter, the disciple, revealed that Jesus was the Son of God. Jesus declared that God revealed to Peter this truth. The book gave great details how to equip effectively the laity to help sold the issues the believers face in their every day life. I addressed in the book the issue of member of the family of God. The value of the biological family and the challenges that destroy and cause in the family members within the body of Christ. The hypocrisy hidden with spouses that can prevent them to have a true relationship with Jesus and worship him with all their heart and soul. The issue of legal and moral divorce within christian couple. The different challenges the church of Jesus-Christ face in this present century and the church needs to acknowledge and deal with them.
