An Eagle Rising

Friend, I believe in you. I believe in the work that God is doing through you. We may face hard times when laboring for the Gospel, but I believe that you have the courage and faith in God to see it through. I know that whatever sin may arise in your life that you will rise above it. I know that whatever weaknesses you have in your life that you are going to trust in God and hold on to that faith until you have the victory you need. You are an eagle rising. You are an eagle rising above the compromise the people around you are falling into. You are an eagle rising above the troubles and cares of a world that will chew you up and spit you out. You are an eagle rising to the occasion, when the occasion calls for a man or women of God who refuses to compromise when faced with loneness, or even death. When things arise in your life that calls for you to compromise your belief in your God and your Savior, I want you to realize that these are some of the most important times in your Christian walk. You may feel at that moment that you cannot stand and will surly fall, but remember, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

I am no expert on eagles, I have read about them over the years, but I am not an expert. Nevertheless, I do know one thing about them. I have seen eagles in the wild, and they fly like no other bird. Here in South Georgia we have an abundance of hawks. We may see three or four on our way to the church on Sunday. They are beautiful birds. You can tell when they are flying whether it is a hawk flying or not. They have a very distinctive way of flying. However, the flight of the Eagle is even more majestic than the Red-tailed Hawk. The flight of the Eagle makes a statement about the mindset and determination of that bird. It says that he knows he is different, therefore; he does not try to act like other birds. He finds his distinction in the way God made him, not conforming to something outside of Gods plan. That is who you are. You find your distinction in Gods design. I had a truck years ago that I loved a lot. It was a good-looking truck. People would ask me how I got that truck to look so good and the explanation was simple. All the other guys around town would change the grill of their truck, or the bumpers, or they would raise it or lower it. However, my truck was original equipment. I did not change anything except the wheels; I went with a ten-inch wide rim to set the truck off. Nevertheless, as far as the truck itself was concerned, I did not change a thing.
