About the Book

Through the Night is a beautifully illustrated poem that shares the true-life experience of how one grandmother finds peace and a heartfelt connection to her grandchildren when she lies awake missing them through the night. The reality of God’s presence everywhere, all the time, finally eases the distance between them and brings the comfort and peace she has been seeking.

About the Author

Donna Rose Porta Kochner has raised three sons, all of whom are married. Soon after the daughter-in-laws balanced out the family, the blessings continued with the addition of ten grandchildren, and more on the way! Faced with the reality of her children living out of state, she needed to find a way to ease the missing and bridge the distance between them. She has accomplished this with Through the Night, beautifully illustrated by Nancy Cote, an award-winning illustrator.

Through the Night is Donna’s first book and just one of many encouraging and uplifting poems she has written. Donna lives at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, in Missouri, with her husband, Jerry, of forty-one years.
