CHAPTER 1
WHAT DO YOU HAVE WITH YOU?
“The real tragedy in life is not being limited to one talent, but in failing to use that one talent” – Edgar Waston
A poor person never has anything to prove, they do manual labor, they excise when they work, so they become stronger and very creative in thinking and otherwise.
On the side of the rich, the reverse was the case. No time for creative thinking.
The goal of same poor persons is to make something out of his or herself. In this case if you find yourself among, all you have to do, no matter what might be the situation, you must have something in your hand doing before God could bless you.
What you have inside of you gives you height before the rich and gives you a place of the king. After God has chosen Moses as to lead the Israelite into the promise land, Moses being of the flesh has forgotten that before now, all he needed to complete the task before him, has being provided by God, still not convince enough to this, he went ahead bombarding God with more questions like many of us do.
“The Moses answered and said” But suppose they not believe me or listen to my voice, suppose they said. The Lord has not appeared to you” so the Lord said to him, “What is in that your hand? “He said “A rod”. And he said“Cast it on the ground, so he cast it on the ground and it become a serpent and Moses fled from it. – Exodus: 1 – 3
Before God posts each and every one of us as letter to our mother’s womb, he had enclosed the envelope (pregnancy) with a special thing; everyone has something special with him or her.
In the quest for a better living, something must be in your hands doing, for God to act fast in your intervention.
If one finds him or herself in a pit, I think what he need to do is to raise up his or her hands while crying for a help, don’t worry where the helper will come from, I strongly believe that help must surely come.
“A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophet cried out to Elisha, saying “Your servant my husband is dead and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be slaves” So Elisha said to her “What shall I do for you”? Tell me what do have in the house? And she said “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil” The he said “God borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors – empty Vessels; do not gather just a few. 2Kings 4:1 – 3
You can predict what is about to happen, over flow? That is understatement. Let’s get back to the story.
“And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons then pour it into all those vessels and set aside the full ones. So she went from him and shut door her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were filled, that she said to her son. “Bring me another vessel, “And he said her “There is not another vessel” so the ceased. – 2Kings 4: 7
It is your altitude that would bring you to abundance of gratitude. The people who reach the pinnacle of success in this life, the men and women who become great in whatever field they chose , are the people who accept the fact that they alone in-charge of their own destiny.
Long ago 10 years back, I know a day like this would surely come around me, don’t get it twisted, you can become rebellious, I also realized that people who “Make it” in life are those ones who decide to make it.
The notable level of greatness was attained by persons born into abject poverty. Just be competence in exhibiting what God gave you, is for the betterment of lives out there.
The greater the fact you desire to achieve the greater the mental preparation required for overcoming obstacles and persevering over the long haul. If you want to take a stroll in your neighborhood, you can reasonably expect to have few, if any problems. But that’s not the case if you intend to climb the highest mountain. People who personalize failure see a problem as hole they’re permanently stuck in.
But achiever sees any predicament as temporary. While other way achievers keep themselves from personalizing failure is by focusing on their strengths.
I use the above method with everyone. I even use a form it with myself. When I’m working, I do not give myself a reward until after the job is completed. When I approach a task, I give it my very best, and no matter what the result were, I have no problem resting at night. And no matter where I fail or how many mistakes I make, I don’t let it devalue nor truncate my way of reasoning as a person. As the saying goes,
God uses people whom eyes and mouth of men have label “Failure” Cause there aren’t any other kind around. Like many people, you may have a hard time maintaining yourself from feeling like a “Failure” of which people mistakenly talks about. But know it, it possible to cultivate altitude about you no matter circumstances you find yourself in or what kind of experience you have. Those who cannot take chances cannot make advances.
