Nothing is impossible with God.
Words heard by Mary in the midst of impossible circumstances.
Nothing means no thing, absolutely nothing,
Is impossible means anything is possible. There is hope.
With God Means His presence, God with us.
There is power. There is potential. There is a future.
He’s the Power holding the future and the hope.
What does this mean to me?

Sand in My Shoes
I can’t help but smile ‘cuz I’ve got a little secret. The ladies around me don’t know I’ve got sand in my shoes.
You see, I snuck away to the beach today just for a little while, between carpool and groceries, a moment to refresh my soul.
I starred into the sinking sun, reflecting it’s brilliance on the sea, so when I closed my eyes, reflections burned in darkness.
Is that what we’ll be like in heaven, so full of God’s presence the brightness of His image burned into our lives?
I listened to the waves rolling in one trailing the other; Overflowing sounds, Crashes vanishing into whispers.
Is that what God is like in my life, sometimes crashing, sometimes whispering, consistent in grace?
I’ve got to run now --- more errands to go, but I know I have a secret; not just the sand in my shoes but God’s presence in my heart.
Taking the Cup
It was forced on me, Shoved into my chest Taking away breath, Red splashed on white.
I didn’t want it. I didn’t ask for it But I could not flee. It was all over me!
It was freezing cold fear Gripping mortality, Ripping apart Emotions held dear.
I was empty and alone, Feeling there was nothing Large enough or wise enough To lead to hope.
It wasn’t until I took the cup And clutched it to my breast That I could receive it.
It was a cup of blood, Not mine but His, Power personified In redeeming love.
I never wanted the cup of suffering But it was given by a loving God Whose grace spilled over me.

About the Author
Maggie Bruehl has loved writing since she was a child, but it wasn’t until her mid-thirties that she began publishing poetry and articles. She authored the script for a children’s CD, TuneKids, as well as co-authored the book, Leading a Child to Independence.
Throughout her forty years with Campus Crusade for Christ, she has gathered rich experiences from around the world, capturing them as snapshots of life. Maggie splits her time between Orlando, Florida, and Blue Ridge, Georgia. She loves being with her husband of forty-four years, four children and five grandchildren.
