Josiah breathed heavy, staring out of the attic window, watching the people scurry around like mindless maggots. If they only knew what he knew… If only they took a second to look at the world caving in around them; their everyday actions were creating a black hole and all of them were being voluntarily sucked into it like sheep to the slaughter. There was nothing he could do but watch them parade around like tiny ants going about their duties and routines, nothing he could do but watch them and wait for the winter storms to blow in and unlike the ants, they’d all be completely unprepared, lost, starving and trapped, ready to unleash the sinful beasts inside their own hearts. There was no sunshine to give a warm feeling in winter, no pretty flowers and living things to distract the wilds of the human mind. In winter there was only the still silence of death and the raging mad thoughts corroding away each person’s soul.
He turned away, sliding his dry calloused hand across the glass. Fools, he thought, feeling the silver sting of fresh blood burst in his throat as a cough clawed at his chest and erupted from his chapped lips. A chill slithered up his spine in slow motion and the wind pushed eagerly at the old wooden walls, making the small attic creak and shake; autumn was finally taking a bow and exiting the stage, making way for winter: nature’s angel of death. This time Josiah would be ready, precise and once more the world would be rid of another infectious cluster of human blemishes.

About the Book
Long before the modern world, people were given ten commandments, a key to life instructions that has all but been destroyed. Command My Flesh shows the eyes that God chose to give these commandments as mandatory guidelines, not suggestions.
About the Author
I’ve always dreamed of writing, seeing my name scrawled across the glossy cover of a book. Since I was a child, I’d entered competitions for young writers, and though I didn’t win first prizes until my senior year in high school, I never was less than third. Writing has been a passion in my family as long as I can remember. My mother was the one who inspired me to go for my first book, and I can’t say that I regret any of it. I’m currently a college student looking toward my AAS in hospitality management and certification as an event specialist. I have two little brothers who are very talented as well and have big dreams too. We all live in the small but ever-growing town of Gillette, Wyoming, and we’re some of the craziest and most compassionate people you’ll ever meet.
