And while the boys slept
Their faith they were keeping
And the sleepers kept sleeping,
and sleeping and sleeping!
A year came and went and so many more
And the sleepers slept on behind the cave door.
And so time went on and many years passed
And a shepherd disturbed the sleepers at last.
They arose from their sleep still in great fear,
Not knowing they had slept over one hundred years!
They though they had slept just through the night,
And the thought of Decuis still gave them fright.

About the Author
Anna Kuck was born and raised in rural Wisconsin, along with ten brothers and sisters. Her Catholic faith has always been important to her. When she began raising her own family, she invested in good Catholic books for her children to read. Seeing such a limited number available, she was prompted to begin writing her own. She has always had a special love of poetry and chose to use it as an enjoyable way for children to learn about the saints. She and her husband, Tim, have been blessed with eight children and reside in Nebraska.
About the Illustrator : The Sisters of the Congregation of the Mother of God are a Traditional Catholic Congregation. The Sisters wear the full habit and teach in Traditional Catholic Schools in Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and Nebraska.
