I GIVE IT ALL TO YOU…
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. II Corinthians 1:3-4(NIV)
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his Compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your Faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;” therefore I wait for him .Lamentations 3:22-24(NIV)
Have you ever been going along in life just minding your own business, everything is just hunky-dory and all of a sudden smack! Something happens. It throws a wrench in the works and your world falls apart. You feel hurt, rejected, alone, angry, frustrated, your body aches with pain and you wonder how I am going to get through this.
Have you ever asked God (in desperation) why is this happening to me? Why have you forgotten me? Where are you? How long is this going to take? Have you told him you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired? I have. And you know what… It’s OK! He wants us to be honest with him. He knows what we’re going to say before we even say it. (Psalms 139:4) and he hears our heart cry and sees our tears. Sometimes he allows us to be tested and retested because we didn’t get it right the first time. He is the Potter and we’re the clay and he is molding us into his image. Be pliable in his hands.
The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort is Our God!
And he promises that he will never leave us or forsake us. His promises are new every morning, and he is faithful and able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us!
When we finally wrap our head and our heart around that we can say...
Have Thine own way Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still
As I look back on my walk with the Lord, I see that he has used these trials to strengthen me because he knew what was ahead of me. And because he has allowed me to endure these trials, I’ll be able to comfort those in trouble with the comfort I have received from him...
So when you’re thinking about giving up, just give in, and give it to him.

You can hear the sounds of a rippling brook in the background, you walk into the clearing, and there He is … patting the place next to Him as He beckons you to come … sit with me awhile.
About the Author
Ruth Basquez a lifelong resident of Kansas grew up in a large family loving God and music all her life. She married her high school sweetheart, Gene and has two daughters and four grandchildren. Her greatest joys are spending time with her family, singing, playing the piano, cooking with her grandchildren, watching birds and scrapbooking. Ruth is passionate about evangelism and using her gift of writing to help others.
