God will speak to our deepest need. I experienced this early in my walk with him, God knew what I really needed when I begged him one evening to give me strength to go on when I was living what I considered a tedious, boring life. I asked him to add something to my life. I left exactly what would be added to him. J wondered how he would answwer.
I didn't have to wait long to find out. As I awoke the next morning it was as if I saw an open Bible, with the words, "So shall the Word of God, yielding power, give power unto you." It wasn't the answer I expected, and I didn't realize it at the time, but by turning my attention to his Word, God was answering my actual, deepest need.

As Shirley Smith grew closer to God over the years, her enthusiasm for encouraging others to include God in their lives grew also. She earned a degree in Community Health, but has combined her current love of writing, Bible study, teaching Bible lessons, and testifying of the power of God as witnessed in her life to write Listening to the Voice of God.
