These are stories of ten boys and girls who live in big, watery houses. They want to make friends with you.
These ten big fishes and mammals want you to know about where they live and what their parents’ jobs are every day. They live in imaginary homes. Each animal has a special story about what happens at home.
The big fishes and mammals have houses or habitats in different oceans, seas, big rivers, or gulfs.
Jason, the sea lion, lives in a big water house. He lives in the Pacific Ocean near California. His father is a dentist, and his mother is a clown in the circus.
Shelia, the walrus, enjoys her big water house in the south Arabian Sea. Her father is a tightrope walker, and her mother is a nurse.
Melvin, the octopus, has his water house deep in the Atlantic Ocean. His father is a carpenter, and his mother is a secretary.
Lisa, the wise tuna, lives in her water house in the Nile River in Africa. Her dad is a marine biologist, and she has a stay-at-home mom.
Marvin, the marlin, lives in the Gulf Coast waters near the state of Louisiana. His father is a medical doctor. His mom is not alive.
Helen, the barracuda, lives in the Amazon River near the country of Brazil. Both of her parents are chefs.
Chastity, the whale, lives in the Indian Ocean. Her dad is an engineer, and her mom is a dancer.
Poppy, the dolphin, lives near the Arctic Sea off the coast of Europe. His father is a lawyer, and his mom is a librarian.
Felix, the halibut, lives in the Caspian Sea. Both of his parents are teachers.
Connie, the cod, lives in the Red Sea. Her father is a soccer player, and her mother is an accountant.
Each day, all of these big fishes and mammals swim in their water houses and neighborhoods and play with their relatives and friends. Each one has a special book filled with stories for you to read.

About the Book
This compilation of imaginary fish stories was written for children to spark their imagination about sea animals.
About the Author
Sharon Hunt, a freelance writer and recent retiree from a historically black college writes cookbooks and children’s books. In her books, she includes educational scenarios for children as well as adults. For her children’s books, she introduces ideas about subject matter centered around their learning environment. In her cookbooks, most of her work is about Georgia and African American history. The recipes represent different regions of Georgia and celebrate the foods and methods of preparation from each region. Her most famous cookbook, Bread from Heaven, has sold thousands of copies, and she has appeared on QVC Home Shopping Network three times. Ms. Hunt created the original recipe for the World’s Largest Peach Cobbler in Peach County, Georgia.
Sharon Hunt graduated with BS and MS degrees from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She majored in food and nutrition and is a registered dietitian. She has done further study at Kansas State University. Ms. Hunt is a diamond life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
