Preface
Welcome to Stonewyke Glen’s Fun, Food & Festivities Cookbook. Blessed to be the mother of many children, I’ve had ample opportunity to experiment with cooking. The constant requests for my recipes gave birth to the idea of creating this cookbook.
Hospitality is my greatest gift, and I have a passion for cooking; therefore, creating menus, centerpieces and an atmosphere in which to enjoy good food with friends and family has always come naturally to me. As you make your way through the pages of this book, my hope is that you will find many interesting ideas and ways to indulge your own talents and creativity.
The recipes I use regularly are made from ingredients easily found in supermarkets or craft stores. If a particular brand is unavailable in your area, just use a brand found locally. It may be a bit different than my dish, but it will become your version.
Presentation is one of the things I enjoy most about working with food. In the pages ahead, I have included some of my serving ideas as well as ideas for unique ways to package food for gift giving. As you prepare the recipes in this book, remember you have the ability to create your own special meals and gifts. Take a deep breath and a step of faith; and trust that there is joy in the journey…

About the Book

About the Author
Tara Wells Borek lives with her husband, their two youngest sons, and her mother, at Stonewyke Glen, a small ranch located in the windswept high-desert region known as the Antelope Valley in Southern California. She and her family share the duties of homeschooling and the care and feeding of a menagerie that includes four horses and two Great Danes. Tara volunteered briefly as the editor of her local community newsletter, was a member of the Welcome Wagon committee, and has served as a small-group leader for the women’s Bible study at her church. She donates her time and artistic talents to paint backdrops for church plays and school auctions. Tara finds joy in entertaining on any scale, from inviting a family for a meal after church to hosting cooking classes in her home. She loves sharing fun, food, and festivities all year long.
