The Love of God
God’s love is like cool water
When I am thirsty
Like the warmth of the sun
When I am cold
Refreshing as a summers breeze
To cheer me
When I’m low
The love of God
Is with me
Everywhere I go.
A shelter
When the storms of life overtake me
A beacon light
To guide me safely through
The love of God
Is living
Deep inside me.
The love of God
Is cleansing
Washes white as snow
Speaks,
Like a thousand thunders
When his will I seek to know.
He anoints me
With his healing oil
Restores my weary soul.
The love of God
That spared not
When He reached for my soul.
God’s love came down from heaven
Shined his light that all might see.
By his blood
We have been pardoned
If by faith we will believe.
The love of God
Never changes; never gives up on you.
Just as you are,
The love of God keeps reaching out to you.

About the Book
God’s love for the world was gift-wrapped in love and tied with a crimson ribbon. Jesus knew his destiny was a lonely road to Mt. Calvary where he died for you and me on a cruel cross. Salvation is a free gift to all. It is not God’s will that anyone perish, but all come to Christ for a new life. Our future with him is secure in heaven.
About the Author
Joyce Wells is a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. She has been involved in Christian ministry for fifty-one years as a Sunday school teacher of children and adults. She is a retired homemaker, mother, and grandmother living in Knoxville, Tennessee. She has three grown children and three grandchildren. She is gifted by God to write poems. Sharing them by means of a book is a dream come true for her. Joyce will be celebrating her eighty-fifth birthday this year.
