The Portal is a look at time through a young man’s eyes. As a young person we feel that we have a lifetime ahead of us, a time without limitations. It’s our time and we tend to treat it selfishly, in a hurry to get on with our own discovery of what lays ahead of us. At least that is how I treated my future years ago. I couldn’t wait to break free from family and see what the world had for me.
The writing of The Portal was a very interesting experience for me. I caused me to give careful thought to my character of Timothy Drake and too many of the events in his life. Tim’s search for identity in his own time and in the ancient past helped me to draw upon some of the experiences I had at his age. Tim’s supportive family stand out as one of the bull works helping to anchor him solidly to a coarse that would help him understand himself and others. More importantly, his experiences taught him that he wasn’t alone and that there was someone who stood with him, loving him, caring for him and planning for his future in the God man Jesus Christ.
What begins as an effort to disprove and discredit, turns in to a journey of discovery of a God, of a Lord and Savior who loves us and seeks our very best.
My thanks go to my wife for sharing me with my manuscript, and to my daughters who helped me to set my course and stick to it. Yes, there are many others who helped make this book worth writing and each of them knows their contribution and my gratitude.

About the Author
I am a Christian by faith who has spent thirty years reading my Bible from cover to cover and checked various editions for accuracy and readability. During my career, I have studied law, technology, and cultures, as well as specifications and projects.
During my lifetime, I have come to know the Lord in a very real sense, seeking His leadership in my life and living a relationship with Christ that has shown me His love and grace.
I live in Georgia, one of many homes over the years. My family and I have lived in Chicagoland, Texas, Oklahoma, Sweden, and Georgia. My jobs have allowed me to travel to many countries around the world and meet many different people and cultures from the Amazon region in Brazil, to Korea, Japan, Kamchatka, Okinawa, China, The Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, Samoa, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Suriname, Colombia, Sweden, the UK, France, and other countries.
Christ is my Savior, and I look to Him for direction and leadership. He has
never failed me.
