Fear Not! There is Still Power in Prayer. Fear is a destructive weapon that the enemy uses to cripple the body of Christ into silence. Fear causes us to compromise the word and the work of God. “Fear Not! There is Still Power in Prayer” offers the believer a guide to withstand the wiles and attacks of the enemy through effective fervent prayer. But, before we can get to the point where our prayers become effective, we must look inward and perform a self cleaning test to uproot some of the ailments that causes our prayer lives to be lacking.

This project specifically speaks to those who are in need of encouragement and those lacking inspiration to incite the effectual fervor of prayer: To those who have come to a spiritual desert in their walk with Christ or those broken in spirit from the plights of spiritual warfare. Yes, this message seeks to testify to the spiritually malnourished suffering from spiritual thirst, spiritual hunger, spiritual deafness and blindness and those held captive against their will in a perpetual cycle of hopelessness.
There are those who have grown weary and tired of organized religion and traditional rituals that seldom avail any enlightenment but instead stagnate and perplex individuals. There is a message here for such a person.
I can testify to the power in prayer because it is the reason I am alive today. Had it not been for the undefeated power of effective, fervent prayer, I would not have had the strength to withstand the many attacks that encompassed my life. Death had a pre-established place saved for me but it was not because it was my fate to die early but because of the many fiery darts and assaults that the enemy launched towards me in retaliation. Through prayer, I am able to pen my testimony to these pages and herald for the world to hear that I can celebrate and shout victory because prayer made me, kept me and is still keeping me alive.
What is prayer? This is part of ch. 1
Prayer is the hinges on which our spiritual doors hang. If there are no hinges, there is no support and therefore no door. Prayer is the edge of protection around us that prevents the devil from doing as he would in our lives. After all, the bible declares in Peter that as believers we must be sober and vigilant because our adversary the devil rages about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Prayer becomes our weapon of sobriety giving us alms against Satan’s attacks even though he is consistently on the prowl.
Prayer is verbal permission permitting God to act on our behalf. It is a weapon that cramps and paralyzes, destroys and kills the orchestrated plans of Satan. In many ways, prayer has transformative properties because the believer does not have to be present in order to see prayer working. I recall the faith of the Centurion as described in the New Testament book of Luke chapter seven where Jesus visited his dwelling:

There is never a more demanding time for prayer than now. For this, we ought always to pray. Even before our eyes open to face the day and before our feet touch the ground, we must begin our day with an attitude of gratitude, thanksgiving and adoration. Before we begin our daily tasks or become anxious about the many follow-ups for the day, we should pay homage to the Lord for keeping us safely throughout the night and allowing us to awake to face a new dawn.
Before we start to answer any phone calls, check our voice mail, text messages, or missed calls, it is imperative that we invite the Holy Spirit to be in control of us and the course of our day. Do not forget that the enemy’s strategy is to often shift our focus to keep us from praying. Distractions from voice mails and text messages can unveil a number of unpleasant situations which could start us in an uproar before we even have time to consult the Lord. And any number of attacks could lay wait believers in their voice mail messages alone. By activating the authority of the Holy Ghost through prayer, believers can rest assure that they will be equipped to handle any problem or at best ignore any alarms that would normally cause upset.
Another goal of the devil is to implant fear and doubt in our minds before we even get out of bed. Once we are trapped in that snare, it becomes very challenging to make it through the day as we are lacking in resistance, which I like to refer to as vitamin “R.” When we give the first fruit of our existence to something or someone else other than to the Lord in the mornings, we wrestle for the rest of the day to get into the presence of God. This is because we placed God on the back burner from the start.
Part of the conclusion:
It is my earnest prayer that as believers, you are more watchful, alert and aware of the things that cause you to sin. And, if you commit a sin do not hesitate to repent. The adversary is conscious of the fact that he will not be able to devour everyone but he knows that there are those who will consciously leave doors open and unconsciously give him permission and easy access to create a stronghold that will take dominion and authority over your life. This is why the devil prowls back and forth seeking. If at first he is not successful, he will come back again and again to see which door you have neglectfully left open. Do not leave any door or window open! Do not be his victim. PRAY!!!!

About the Author
Jasmine Gordon is no ordinary individual. Dubbed the “firewoman” by friends and family, she is known in the gospel arena to be a woman on fire for the Lord. It is this passionate fire igniting from within that lead Jasmine down a pathway destined to reveal her true fate.
Jasmine, born as Nichole Gordon on the Island of Jamaica is the seventh of nine children. Having been raised in a Christian home she grew up with the fear of God so it was only fitting that she would embark on a spiritual journey that would eventually lead her to add author to her growing list of credentials. Jasmine earned her education in Evangelism at the Manhattan Bible Institute in New York and travels as an international Evangelist. Not only is Jasmine an aspiring author, she is also a radio personality and a gospel recording artist, earning the coveted title of “Best Original Song” in 2005 on the Gil Bailey Gospel Awards show for her song entitled “I’m on Fire.” She went on to record three other gospel albums as well as two CD recordings on prayer.
Jasmine talents span across many fields. She is the founder and Ambassador for Ministries without Boundaries, a non-profit organization where she ministers to the material needs of others. Since May 2011, on Mother and Father’s day she was able to put a smile on the faces of mothers and fathers in her community by hosting an annual concert and banquet in honor of parents, free of charge.
