“You have an appointment and you won’t be late because I am taking you there.” He shoved her in the car, got in and drove off quickly. It took about thrity minutes until he finally stopped the car in front of the Women’s Center. “I already called for you,” he said staring at her with hatred in his eyes. Roni was crying and Jouda looked around to see if there was anyone who would notice them and then he took out a gun and placed it on top of her belly. He pulled the trigger on an empty chamber and the click of the moving gear made her jump and cry all the harder. “Now go do what you are supposed to do. When I see you again, if that baby isn’t gone I am going shoot it out and kill you too.” Jouda pushed her out of the car. He watched as she walked up and opened the door. He did not leave the front until he saw her talking to someone at the desk. She turned around twice and saw he was still there. “God, where are you,” she cried. It looked like there was no way out but still she kept crying out to God asking him to help her. “Are you alright,” the receptionist asked. “Can I get you a glass of water or something? Maybe you should sit down for a minute.” Roni sat in the waiting room until finally a nurse came out to talk to her. “What is your name, and how can we help you?” “Roni Simone,” she said crying, but please I really don’t want to do this.” “I know,” the nurse said hushing her. “Come on, let’s go back to a waiting room so we can talk and get you away from all the eyes out here.” Roni thought she seemed nice enough. Maybe she could help her figure out what to do. The nurse took Roni back to a counseling room and had her sit in the chair until she returned. While she waited Roni tried to call Kate, but got no answer. Kate’s voice mail came on, but Roni couldn’t bring herself to leave a message. What would she say anyway? So many thoughts were swirling in her head right now. What would she do? If she went back home would she be putting Kate in danger. Would Jouda be waiting outside? The nurse walked in and began checking Roni’s vitals. “Hi, my name is Rhoda. I see you made an appointment for termination of the pregnancy. I will be one of the nurses working on your case. In all there is a team of three. It will be the doctor, me and a nurse’s aide. We just need to check your vitals and have you to sign some paper work and we can begin the procedure.” “But I didn’t make the appointment; my boyfriend did. I don’t think I really want to do this, but I am afraid if I don’t…” Her voice trailed off and she felt she couldn’t finish the thought. She just dropped her head and began crying again.
